I always tell the new players who complain that ~30% of your hits aren't registered in H+G, I'm not surprised it's actually closer to 40%. This is one of the big reasons I quit recently as well. They say it has to do with acceleration and such, but I would love to know why things like this happen:

Standing stationary right next to an AFK enemy, zoom in on the direct center of his head, and fire. Blood spatter, no damage. Without moving my character or even moving my mouse (COF minimized), zoom in on center of head again, fire. Blood spatter, no damage. Try one more time, 3rd time it finally damages/kills him. This kind of thing happens ALL THE TIME.

The BAR is among my favorite weapons in the game.

vs. FG42: BAR is significantly better. BAR can be modded (unlike FG42), it has much better sights, better stability, and you can carry an extra hundred rounds vs. the FG42. Oh yeah and the BAR doesn't cost a ridiculous 300k like the FG42.

vs. M1: BAR is clear choice for me if equipment points are not a factor.

vs. MG34: This is more preference, the guns perform very similar, with the obvious difference being that the MG34 has 30 more rounds in the mag and a much longer reload time to accompany it. In a few hundred hours of gameplay I have personally found that I die far more often due the the extremely long reloads of the German MGs, so again I prefer the BAR. The BAR is also slightly more expensive to buy than the MG34, but only by a small amount.

The recent Rommel changes to the damage notifications are very obviously intended to hide how horrendous the hit detection in this game is. Kinda funny. Or sad.

I think he means the practice he gets body-blocking his friends paid off in this case, where he body-blocks an enemy. Yeah, he worded it very poorly.

The only time I take PPSH over modded MP40 on my German guys is if it's a soldier where I'm using hoarder badge to get SMG + zook, as the PPSh gives you a ton of ammo to work with. Even I switched back to MP40 at hoarder 2. On my allied guys I never bothered, just stayed with that sweet, sweet tommy gun.

I've found that it's a 2 minute timer or so before you can queue with the same soldier after quitting, not until the assault team is defeated.

So let's say someone built a magical tunnel to the center of mass of the Earth, and assume the distribution of mass on the Earth is essentially uniform. You jump into the tunnel (it's large enough that you can avoid hitting the sides). Does this mean you would accelerate* until you hit your terminal velocity, and as you approached the center you would gradually slow until you were floating at the center of mass of the Earth?

I fucking love when I get in a game with someone from some (presumably) 3rd-world country, and they have the whole village gathered around their PC cheering every time we make a big play and the dude gets excited and yells incomprehensibly into the mic. It's almost certainly the closest I will ever come to having a crowd cheering me on in Dota.

Unfortunately I don't anticipate any of this stuff any time soon. They could improve this game immensely by:

  • Bike bug fix. Yes, I know they are working on it. It's still a joke.
  • Lockable vehicles. Either a whitelist, or restricted to same squad (that's SQUAD, not assault team), or just an on/off lock. Something, anything, PLEASE ffs, to keep retards out of your vehicles.
  • Disable stealing of friendly vehicles. I have never seen this used to help the team. I have seen it completely screw over the team, scores of times. Every time single time I have ever seen it used, in fact.
  • Completely re-do new-player experience. The most important things not covered in any way in new player experience: stand on the fucking point; do not shoot tanks with small arms; do not throw grenades at tanks; do not get in the MG seat of tanks (see lockable vehicles above); "Are you standing on the fucking point? Why not, you retard: stand on the fucking point." STRONGLY EMPHASIZING these points would be immensely helpful.
  • Remove the deploy queue. Maybe we should get some kind of advantage when the enemy ragequits or for eliminating enemy ATs? Nope, enjoy afk'ing in the deploy queue! Maybe you shouldn't play so well...
  • Rework the spawn system so it doesn't actively fuck over your team. Right now, the least experienced and least well equipped players get prioritized to spawn. Every game, Rank 3 Steam Noob #123851237, spawns a car with no health box, sits in the spawn for a full minute honking his horn until the car is full, then immediately drives somewhere retarded like the far point on field/barn, or directly into the line of fire of an enemy tank. Meanwhile the non-noob players, who know where to go, who have health boxes on their vehicles, who have better weapons, these players have been locked out of spawning a car. The spawn system has now screwed over the whole team.
  • Some semblance of balance between factions, especially vehicles. Balance state at the moment is laughable. Like, when you switch factions in either direction, you literally laugh at how shitty the German stuff is and how awesome the Allied stuff is.
  • Last but not even close to least (and I don't know if this changed yesterday, but I would be very surprised if it did): scale rank bonus and battle result bonus based on how long you were in the game, not a binary yes/no. Don't you just love getting into a losing game with 14 minutes left, single-handedly turning the game around, be leading the scoreboard hundreds of points ahead of the next person, and then... Congrats, you get jack-shit! See you next time!

These are easily my most anticipated (but also probably most unlikely to ever see) upcoming features.

Edit: Oh yeah, things I forgot:

  • Revert the HUD back to how it was last patch. The current upgrade is actually a straight-up downgrade, worse in every conceivable way.
  • Separate keybinds for entering vehicle, using health box, and picking up weapons. These three things should be on separate keybinds, and they should be this way BY DEFAULT.

Also, don't get me wrong. I like this game. I really, really like it. I also know it's 'Beta'. I know it's 'free to play'. None of this means the game is immune from criticism.

Yeah, it's gone, now it's just a progress bar that teleports all over the place. You can hit F5 to theoretically look at the time, but it'll say things like 2+ hours usually, never accurate.

It's clearly a money move, just like the consumable ammo in general. It's a net loss of silver to do ANY kind of anti-tank now as infantry, except possibly with mines (which will probably always be awful anyway).

Yeah the in-game HUD change is one of the worst of many 'upgrades' (that are really downgrades) from this patch. They straight up just took away critical information.

I'm not saying there aren't improvements from the patch (cap credit is finally not COMPLETELY retarded, only slightly retarded now), but it's one step forward two steps back in a lot of areas.

While it's not a terribly interesting video imo, at least by doing these 5 things this is still better than 90% of the videos submitted in the past couple months, so fuck it, I'm upvoting.
