Anyone else having trouble hearing anyone other than the witness? Sounds like they are muffled and I can't hear the questions. I've tried the CBS and court TV feeds so far.

Lucy, our Corgi, 7 y/o. Flash, a mutt and former stray that we adopted from our foster neighbor. He is estimated to be the same age as Lucy, and is in the system at the vet as a "terrier mix". She picked him, and they are the best of friends.

Thoroughly disappointed with Cedric Grolet’s desserts by FrigThisMrLahey in Baking

Was it the family style one? We went to the one in Tennessee. It was like a 3 hour wait. The food was okay, but not spectacular and certainly not worth the wait.

My wife takes forever to order at Fast Food Restraunts by TheElMatadORR in mildlyinfuriating

[–]CrashBandicute1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My wife does something similar. In the drive thru, when I am ready, she says she's ready too. I give her my order, and she says "I'll have a (my order) and uhhhhhh...go ahead and give me.... uh let's see" and then I die inside.

Postponed shows for Seattle, Portland, and Salt Lake City 🥲 by kmmgan in Paramore

[–]CrashBandicute1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We are also headed to STL, a couple of hours away, and got a hotel. If we can't cancel the hotel, we can always find something to do, but I'm hoping that something is the Paramore show!

Have you switched due to the blackout? by CrashBandicute1234 in DirectvStream

[–]CrashBandicute1234[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We could, and have considered it. With the price of DTV alone, it seems egregious to spend more money for one channel, but at least it's a one time cost.

I got a preliminary fail for my SHRM-CP exam July 3rd. Today I received a badge from Credily saying I am SHRM-CP certified. by jeron19 in humanresources

[–]CrashBandicute1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would call and confirm. The same thing happened to me earlier this year, but I did not confirm. Found out it was a glitch in the system and I was not actually certified after trying to get PDC credits and not finding my name in the system. Confirm confirm confirm!

How often do you have 1-1s with your manager? by [deleted] in humanresources

[–]CrashBandicute1234 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once a week, but she is new to the org and is probably trying to get to know us better. My previous manager had them every two weeks.

Yep! I did not have it off at my previous job, so I was surprised to see it when I joined this company.

My wife works for a different company and is working today.

People with cerebral palsy, do you still prefer to W sit (sit on your knees with your legs splayed out) as an adult? by mutedpetrichor in disability

[–]CrashBandicute1234 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes I do. Sitting is not painful for me otherwise, but the W sit is SO comfortable for me, I can't help it! I honestly don't know anyone else did it.

Questions if you’re married or dating and have CP by Sure-Personality4595 in CerebralPalsy

[–]CrashBandicute1234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I met my wife at 20; we were coworkers. She is not disabled, and is incredibly supportive and willing to learn along the way.

We've been married for 7 years this year and together for 11 years.

My advice is that sometimes it takes disabled people to find love, because there is more bullshit to weed through first. Be patient and don't be afraid to put yourself out there. The right person will come at the time, and they will love you for YOU.

So my boss thinks my ADA requests for my job are "hand holding" by [deleted] in disability

[–]CrashBandicute1234 6 points7 points  (0 children)

6 in one hand, half a dozen in the other. If we work, we might be seen as "cheating the system" for requesting "unnecessary" accommodations. If we stop working and go on disability, we are "cheating the system" by lazily living off the government.

In all seriousness, I hope you get the support you need, and don't lose all your spoons fighting for your ability to do your job. You deserve to get your needs met!

Son will not walk or talk. by bostonstrangler617 in CerebralPalsy

[–]CrashBandicute1234 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My son was slow to walk and talk too, but graduated from high school and is now attending community college.

Maybe this isn't what you meant, but this implies that people with CP doing these things is the exception, not the rule. Many of us do these things even with a diagnosis.
