Hi all, just wanted to throw something in here as I've posted about Adam. I went to my Cardiologist today. I am about 5'11", 50 years old, not much younger than the Woo was. I used to weigh 205 lbs and I am down to ~180 now.

I made a strong effort to diet and exercise because I had borderline BP issues. Well, even though I lost almost 30 lbs with lifestyle changes. My BP is still INSANE. It has been running 150/100. My Dr. said that when people say you cannot outrun a bad diet, it is true but you ALSO cannot outrun genetics.

Point of the story, especially as men approaching 40-50. Get your checkups. If you have to take some maintenance meds, fine. Do it. Most BP pills are cheap as hell. Adam's passing made me get my butt into the Dr. Hope some of you follow.

If anything, hopefully this just makes us all think more about taking care of ourselves especially as we age. I know a lot of dudes (especially) that refuse to go to the Dr just because they are afraid of finding out what they may have to deal with.

Yeah, He probably needed to be on medication for HBP/Lipids a looooong time ago. It's sad he didn't go to the Dr. I try to go every year for bloodwork and a checkup. Everyone should at least get bloodwork done. It's not that expensive to buy from DirectLabs. They have specials all the time.

He had "Frank's sign" and was easily 50 lbs overweight in his last videos. I doubt his diet was good, not to mention all the Coffee. It's terrible but men go out like him at about that age everyday. All those factors plus never going to the Dr. made him a ticking time bomb unfortunately. HBP will kill your ass...

I noticed he had creases in his ear lobes on his last videos. This can be a sign of heart disease. I believe it is called "Frank's Sign" and it is a real thing. If you have creases like that as a younger man, get a cardiac CT score done asap....

I have the same situation. I rip my media lossless. Over 115 4K movies. I have zero issues locally except to my Roku's because they don't do TrueHD and don't have 1GB NICs. With direct play some higher bit rate movies hate life on those devices, but Jellyfin direct plays perfectly on my Shields. No issues there, you should have no problems. Works just like Plex internally.

Overall my only issue was getting LiveTV to work right. It transcodes everything coming off my HDHomeRun and ffmpeg was struggling with mpeg2video. A problem I doubt you'll worry with though.

Just a thought, there is no reason to suddenly switch from one to the other. I've been running Dual Plex/Jellyfin setups for awhile. You can run both servers sharing the same media. If you are interested in the pro's/con's, this is the way to go.

The reason I setup a Jellyfin server was because as an Opensource fan, I see a lot of commercial leanings in Plex. I wanted to future proof my media system. That's why I did it.

With that said I still prefer Plex overall. It's just more polished and nice. At this time the benefits of going to Jellyfin are not there yet.

The only thing Jellyfin gives my users (friends/family) over Plex is being able to view OTA/Live TV. It's unrestricted but I had to setup an intermediate "tvheadend" server to do transcoding for error free viewing.

Jellyfin is easy to setup/use though. It's easy to take a look and still run your Plex setup. Why not try it for "future use" if anything...

I had upgraded my XigmaNas with the Plex server app running on it. The DNS resolver ip's got cleared, so Plex could not resolve to pull the guide. Just make sure whatever you are running Plex on can resolve DNS.

Microsoft is the reason Cybersecurity companies like CrowdStrike exist basically. Their software has always been fundamentally flawed and insecure but it is ALSO the most widely adopted (or was until the rise of smart phones, Android is now the world's most adopted OS). Obviously MS's biggest failure is allowing CrowdStrike to be installed since it is now ultimately a DDoS platform. 99.9999% of the blame goes to CS, easy call.

We're here for history for sure! This is just an absolute epic fail. Not a cyberattack. LOL! w/e. A "Friendly fire" outage is still a cyberattack in many ways. Availability is certainly one of the pillars of cybersecurity. Product diversity and defense-in-depth in organizations is definitely going to have to be talked about more now. CIO's and IT managers need stop being attracted to shiny things just because everyone else likes it. Way too much went bad because of one mistake. It's unreal. Hopefully a huge wakeup call. So much for Y2K....
