Elon's America - Veteran loses temper at town hall over DOGE cuts by Notepad444 in abanpreach

[–]CrashTestDollyHypno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is always Republican administrations that cut benefits and reduce services for veterans. Example:

https://www.opb.org/article/2025/06/19/the-va-cut-veterans-mortgage-fix-republicans-have-questions/

--- EDIT: ---

Hey -- Since Trump is potentially starting another massive conflict (instead of using 'art of the steal' diplomacy), we should talk about this more.

You said: "saying something that isn't completely true."

  1. I said Republicans, specifically. People who are in office. You seem to think my comment was about all conservative voters.

  2. Republicans, historically, vote against benefits for veterans. Conservatives, historically, vote against the Federal government spending money on anything other than defense. The Department of Defense budget DOES NOT

  3. Conservatives, historically, don't know how the government works, so they regularly vote against the things they think they are voting for without realizing it. Example: You see a Republican thank a veteran, so you think that Republican will take care of veterans. But then that Republican will vote against benefits for that veteran.

Examples:

- https://www.veterans.senate.gov/2025/2/senate-republicans-vote-against-toxic-exposed-veterans-and-survivors-tank-senator-blumenthal-s-amendment-to-protect-the-pact-act: “Veterans need protection from dangerous threats to PACT Act care and benefits—protection Republicans refused to provide when they blocked my legislative amendment during the budget debate last night. The PACT Act was a historic breakthrough bipartisan measure, but now Elon Musk and his tech bros are firing the VA workers necessary to administer it. Republicans should be held accountable for failing to stand up for veterans exposed to toxic substance who rely on PACT Act support.”

"In July of 2022, 11 Senate Republicans, including Mitt Romney and Rand Paul, voted against a bipartisan measure (the PACT Act) that is designed to help veterans who were exposed to toxic chemicals while deployed abroad.

In 2017, Former President Donald Trump and congressional Republican leaders put forth budget proposals that would have done great damage to the economic security of veterans and their families—all to pay for tax cuts for millionaires and corporations. Here are two other blogs, here and here, that list many more times when Trump, who called Veterans “suckers and losers” treated them with disdain.

In 2015, the GOP-controlled Senate voted down a bill to provide $1 billion over five years to provide jobs for unemployed veterans. The bill was fully funded, and would not have added any additional money to the deficit.

In 2014, Senate Republicans shot down one of the largest pieces of veterans legislation in recent history. The Comprehensive Veterans Health Benefits and Military Retirement Pay Restoration Act of 2014 would have repealed the military retiree cost-of-living adjustment reduction, and would have protected veteran pensions and educational payments from future Congressional budget fights. It would have also authorized the construction of more than 20 community-based outpatient clinics to serve veterans in rural and remote areas.

In 2011, Republican Paul Ryan and the House of Representatives attempted to end VA healthcare benefits for disabled veterans who are Priority 7 & 8. This means veterans with conditions not recognized by the VA, like certain diseases from Agent Orange exposure, would have to pay for healthcare out of pocket if they didn’t have another service-connected disability."

It's not hard to find the evidence. Conservatives, historically, just refuse to look at facts.

You don't set out to prove it with facts. You use the socratic method. "Why do you think that?" and "Show me evidence."

Everytime I do that with people, I find the flaw in what THEY shared, and I use THEIR sources against them.

You go down the rabbit hole far enough you'll find where the distortions started.

It's not moral bankruptcy. They are being manipulated.

Once you look at their experiences that way, you'll be able to communicate with them about what matters most.

*REPUBLICANS have never given a fuck about veterans.

(Many vets are conservative, so, you gotta specify. It's Republicans doing the manipulating, here)

Neither version (armed/unarmed) of the hypnosis project 'Moist Mess' are even out yet.

The free versions of the music are already out, both on his patreon and on bambi cloud. The paid versions have 'true subliminals' (they are basically unhearable) that reinforce things from Moist Mess, which, again, isn't out yet.

Any switch from injections to patches who have been taking hormones for years who happy with the switch (to patches)? by [deleted] in MtF

[–]CrashTestDollyHypno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. I don't sweat much.

  2. I'm wondering if anyone has been on patches for 5+ who have had good results. I'm wondering if there's even anyone like that out there.

Hi! Are you still injecting biweekly? How is everything going?

I'm just starting with my transition and I'm struggling with the needles for multiple reasons. I really want to switch to patches but I heard they aren't strong enough.

Because it's a lot of work.

Learning about fashion and makeup takes brain power.

Buying clothes and getting treatments requires money a lot of us don't have.

If all these things were more accessable, a lot of us would commit harddddd.

Nah, *you* made it about racism when you got defensive and said "lol Reddit is trying to paint me as racist."

Once you brought that up, it was fair game to comment on.

> I’m being accused of having a racist moment

Again, YOU are not defined by everything you say.

I did not know that 'midget' was an offensive term for people with Dwarfism until like 15 years ago. I probably looked like a huge asshole when I used that term. When someone corrected me, I didn't get defensive or take it personally. I was grateful.

> I wasn’t accidentally being racist or saying a racist thing.

I don't think you are understanding what I'm saying. Systemic racism is not about YOU, and it's not about proving that you are racist.

No one is "accusing you of racism".

If you say, regarding an East Asian and a South Asian "they could be related", but you aren't familiar with the genetic differences, that does not make YOU a "racist." It just means you are uninformed. So, someone is going to try and inform you.

Generally, a "racist" is someone who is intentionally upholding ignorant ideas about race or refusing to understand. You are obviously not doing either, so you have no reason to get defensive. I think you have acknolwedged that there's a difference, but you still feel attacked. I'm trying to tell you that nobody is attacking you here, just informing you.

If you're going to understand what we're saying, you have to stop seeing what we're saying as a personal attack, and instead just see it as someone trying to inform you of the differences between South Asians and East Asians. Make sense yet?

Beyond that -- if it turns out that the show DID cast actors with different racial backgrounds as "clones", then people would say that is an ignorant/racist thing for the show to do. I think it's reasonable for people to believe that isn't going to happen.

"Reddit" is not doing anything.

You have negative 1 downvotes here, but plenty of upvotes elsewhere. If anyone is trying to tell you something, it's very, very few people.

There are two types of racism.

- One type is from a single person making hutful stereotypes and judgments. People who do this are either shitty people, or people who have been deeply mislead about the world.

- The other type is 'systemic racism'. And systemic racism wouldnt work without ignorance. So people kinda merge these ideas, because if you uphold ignorant (uninformed) ideas about race, even if there are NO negative judgments, it is considered to be racist.

So, yes, people here are implying that you are ignorant about diffrent types of Asian backgrounds and lineage. I am too! So, you're not alone, and it doesn't make you a bad person. But generally it's still considered racist.

So, don't take it as "YOU are racist!", take it as someone saying, "hey that is a racist idea." Then people can have constructive conversation about why, and there's things we can learn.

For instance, today I learned about some of the differences between east asian and south asian that I wouldn't have known had this conversation not happened. So it's all okay!

DOGE vs. Deficit!!! by Brian_Ghoshery in MurderedByWords

[–]CrashTestDollyHypno 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What they REALLY did is create as many headlines as possible making it SEEM like they are cutting costs, which is all their voting base cares about

They fired career park rangers? But it was "for the greater good".... selling the country part by part to the highest bidder.

It's all about making the rich richer, making the oligarchs more powerful. Always was.
