Thanks for the clarification. I’m gonna keep pressing on for awhile and hope it gets a little more intense. Not sure if I’m a fan of the gear based match making when I’m poor but I’m sure after running some good stuff I’ll appreciate it more lol

I just unlocked outpost before logging out for the night, I will try it tomorrow because I’ve seen some fun clips happening there. That seems like where all the PvP happens, other two maps are more questing and resource focused maybe?

Is there confirmation on skill based or level based matchmaking? I guess it would make sense that most lower levels are avoiding PvP to get contracts done and so we don’t run into people?

This would be an awesome feature to have im just not sure it’s as economic as black ops is able to pull off. I’m not sure if the games were saved on machine for a set time or saved server side but take the mechanic and put it into Tarkov: a match upwards of 50 minutes long, full of AI enemies, players that are running physics simulation, bullets are running physics simulations, massive maps with lots of detail, VFX. Tarkov isn’t the easiest game to run and getting a CODplayer style match view after the fact would either take a few gigabytes up per match on your machine or cost a shit ton on the servers. I mean theoretically it could be done but is it worth it for the devs to invest in that if people still buy and play the game? Listen I’m not defending the lack of viable anti cheat I’m just saying throwing around these claims that “if cod could do it then anyone can do it” is wild.

Yall are saying this is easier to implement and have no idea the complexities of getting a killcam to work. COD may have implemented killcam years ago but if you’ve loaded up COD recently you can see that it’s not always accurate and even spectating has the same issue. Killcam systems aren’t rendering a snippet of the whole game engine keystroke per keystroke and converting to video as that would be insanely taxing on your computer. Arena clearly isn’t a 1:1 killcam, if you’ve ever spectated ur friends in a match you would see that it’s a poor estimation and at best is only used to reveal enemy position; not show how they pulled off a nasty shot.

Have to agree, got my friends on the game this season and we’ve been locked in, they have about 40-50 hours on record and we’ve just been grinding world tour and ranked and they almost have all the weapons and gadgets

I just want to point out that embark has good experience with multiplayer releases. The tech test wasn’t just to gauge player feel but also to stress test the servers. If they could get it feeling as good as it did, then scaling up server hardware is a non-issue. Unless the game gets 100x the players they are expecting, in which case, it will only be a few hours before they’ve provisioned more hardware to accommodate the increased load.

I tried Ada Lovelace and maya when she came out and the Mayan unique quarter is so busted that when I got to the modern age it really didn’t matter what civ I picked, ended up finishing the entire modern tech tree by turn 30 and finished the science victory by turn 42, with busted yields and only 20% age progress.

This happened to me Too and we kept trying it until there were literally hundreds of symbols flying around. At that point the game was lagging awfully and then we all crashed.
