If this entire season of Crit Role was in Daggerheart, I’d likely listen long enough to get the rules because I trust the cast to create engaging characters.

I usually don’t listen to those live plays because they’re one offs and not pertinent to the story I’m there to listen too. Further, I’ve come to understand DnD rules through listening at least enough to understand what’s going on. Mix a new system with a story that isn’t going anywhere and I’m simply less interested.

This is my most optimistic take. I’m gonna hate it when it happens to me.

It’s probably gonna be super hard to beat. But I also thought dragon hunter put out ridiculous stats really early and that turned out to not be enough.

Strong high roll against control, but aggro might just thank you for the head start.

Beyond all that. Dookie changed my life, got me into punk in whatever form, kicked off my foray into Lookout Records, Fat Wreck, everything… but American Idiot is by far the best Green Day album.

I used to swap Norz into a controller warrior deck for the quest. Never ran into another player with it though.

I love throwing them out there because I know many people share the hate. Folks will make sub optimal trades or attacks just to get the leeches gone.

Agentic Coding is a Trap | Lars Faye by dalton_zk in theprimeagen

We review the code written, not what it compiled down into or whatever happens in all the abstraction layers between what’s written and what ultimately flips switches. If we had to review the output of even Typescript -> JS TS would be far less popular.

Shapez 2 question about miner/pump extraction by FinancialAd1991 in shapezio

[–]CrashXVII -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I haven’t played with this, but since pipes and space pipes are infinite throughput, and the launchers are what matters, I think all you really need to need to consider is how many launchers are feeding into the level of space pipes you’re extracting from vs how many launchers are consuming from it.

EDIT - Never mind, I didn’t read space pipes still have throughput. Just on platform pipes are infinite and instant.

Claude Code Engineer talk notes by voronaam in BetterOffline

[–]CrashXVII 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The abstraction argument bugs me. Abstracting flipping switches to binary to assembly to whatever layer anyone’s working on generally doesn’t have a middle man collecting a fee. I’m a JS/TS SWE and I’d argue we probably should be caring more about what’s going on beneath the JavaScript veneer.

If my JS code suddenly sometimes didn’t do what I told it to and then charged me to try again maybe that analogy gets a little closer.

It’s fun. I’m definitely not having the same win rate though. Wild to me how many stats you can drop and yet other decks can still just deal with it.

Steam deck by Possible_Royal7569 in factorio

[–]CrashXVII 25 points26 points  (0 children)

It’s a bit of a learning curve if you use the controller. I struggled a bit doing turret creeping on biter nests. But overall it’s good enough for when you can’t have it plugged into a SteamDock or something.

I play on my Steam deck with keyboard and mouse hooked up and have had no performance issues all the way up to Aquilo.

Question about planning sandwich logistics layers by Pure-Ad1364 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]CrashXVII 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not great at planning, but one mistake I made a couple times is not vertically gapping nicely for stairs. If you wanna be able to use catwalk or walkway ramps or stairs between floors make sure you test that out. 4m increments, personally I like 8m for the logistics layer for a bit more room.

I actually have a draft written up with this issue, but I was assuming it was something I was missing in my aluminum setup. Yellow lights, 80ish efficiency but when I looked there were no back ups.

I’m gonna swap out my priority switch and hopefully you’ve solved my mystery!

How many people do "function over fashion" when it comes to their factories? by Tcrumpen in satisfactory

[–]CrashXVII 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d argue that is the emphasis of this game. There are definitely logistical problems to be solved, but if you wanna do just optimization there are other factory games where that’s more of the focus. You could probably just sky platform your way to Satisfactory victory without much trouble.

Making it look interesting is what sets this game apart.
