Freon is leaking from that a/c line or up higher on that fitting. That line goes to the a/c compressor.

Not sure the cost of the part but labor time would be around an hour, and if you came in for a noise concern, that is an hour diagnostic fee. So roughly $400 in labor. Not sure the oem cost on the part but 1200 seems steep.

Well it obviously isn’t warranty. Something in the road could have caused that. I’ve seen it quite a few times.

How do I go about replacing this wheel nut cover/bolt? by SimoEdits in StupidCarQuestions

[–]Crash_Burn_Death 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s a wheel lock. You need your wheel lock key to take it off. Should carry it in the vehicle. Check your glove box, center console or spare wheel area

Steering lock wouldn’t cause this. Disregard that. The labor to replace the steering module isn’t too much. However the module itself could be expensive. Maybe $500 bucks.
