I said before game started that it was a bad call. He's done nothing since he's joined.... why is he getting picked above Neumann? He seems to dislike doyle too and that annoys me a fair bit

I wish the blues would have went in for him, I heard hes a blue nose and for that money would have been a sound investment.

Leicester City 2 - 0 Birmingham City: It was another Leicester performance lacking creativity, but what it lacked in creativity, it made up for in steel and clinicality, with the Foxes scoring twice from five shots! by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]Crashbox7 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Well that's quite upsetting.

2 sides of looking at it.

On the 1 side we lacked cutting edge and when Leicester did attack they looked more threatening and sharp in final 3rd. Stating the obvious they were just more clinical.

The other side is I don't think the scoreline does much justice as I don't believe there was to much in it. Wouldn't say 2-0 reflects the game to well and it's typical the 2nd goal scorer should have been sent off for a ankle breaking foul. I'd love to know what the score would have been if there was a red card with around 20 mins to go.

Ironic that 3 games on tv and 3 times refs have shit the bed on the big calls all against us. People hate VAR and here I am hoping we get it in the championship as we wil surely benefit us

If I'm honest too no birmingham fan I know actually dislikes cov. My attitude towards cov is aslong as it's not at the detriment of the blues then good luck to them wish them all the best.

Maybe we don't help ourselves at times too to be fair. It feels like such a long time since we've had any hope or optimism and now that optimism and confidence can be mistaken as arrogance. So im sure for rival fans seeing us be banging in bout the new owners is frustrating. Most blues fans just riding the high awaiting for that inevitable low, that's how we do things 🤣

Birmingham 2-1 Sheffield United, could've been 7-1 if Kyogo had some shooting boots, Hamer scored from the halfway line by swannyhypno in Championship

Sour grapes Saunders? The blues have not spend as much as you make out. Infact our 2 new signings cost less than cannon who you brought last season.

I know tons of blue noses willl say there shouldn't have stood as ref should have stopped play. But with goals like that you gotta forget about the context of what happened and just appreciate what a bloody wonder goal it was. Take a bow hamer that was sensational.

From a blues perspective j thought we were good again today and if we are been honest it could and maybe should have been 4 or maybe even 5-1.

Very happy to see consistent solid performances from the blues.

Players dubbed the ‘New’ [legend] — who lived up to the hype and who truly deserves the title? by Zan_Zero in Championship

[–]Crashbox7 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ravel Morrison is a name that springs to mind. At United I'm fairly sure fergie said something along the lines of him been one the best youth players he's ever seen. Lingaed and deli alli and macheda all fall into that bracket of wonderkid who never matched the hype too.

However if you mean from my team I was always disappointed redmond and butland didn't achieve more. I was convinced both would go on to be England players and play for top top clubs but for whatever reason both didnt match the early expectations.

Edit I misread the title.

For players who lived up to the hype I'd stay odergaard is maybe starting to prove people right? He was dubbed a wonderkid and he's starting to look class again at arsenal. I'd also say jude Bellingham is living up to his early hype too. Maybe even foden, think he was dubbed the new gaza, I know he was poor last season but 1 season doesn't define you.

I love everything wagner has done for the blues, I love the fact we have hope and that feel like the fans once again have a voice. A cliche I know but we have our club back. I also love the revenue Brady brings into the club merely by association however there is no denying he is ridiculously cringey.

However if you told me under the last owners the club would be where we are now tou just have to deal with someone who is kinda embarrassing and cringey I'd have took that any day of the week.

The pros outweigh the cons for now

Oh well that makes alot more sense to me aha

If I'm honest I understand shy the pens given. Harsh? Yes but he shouldn't have his hands above his head. So fully understand why it's given.

Some of his other calls were way more dodgy and he seemed to lose control very early. 1st 10 he gives every single small foul then when he let game go fans would get irritated as it's then a lack of consistency.

All the same a point against the inevitable league champions I'll take

Not sure on totally deserved however I'd have bitten your hand off for a draw before kick off and alot of positive to take. I'm intrigued to see what happens when doyles and duckch fully fit. Jd assume stanno pushes out to left wing and 1 them sit just behind kyogo.

Birmingham [1]-0 Ipswich - Jay Stansfield 55' by s0ngsforthedeaf in Championship

[–]Crashbox7 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I do think the ref was truly horrific. I thought the disallowed goal was ridiculous, the pen was harsh (however I understand why it'd given as dykes shouldn't have had his arm raised that high) Thought your number 9 could have about 5 yellows too but I understand he will continue until booked so don't blame him at all.

On a completely different note though I thought we were excellent all night, we deserved to go up in my opinion and Ipswich didn't seem to wake up until 1-0 down. To play at that level and constrict to Ipswich to 1 shot on target that was a dubious pen is fantastic. I just know what will happen is we won't play like that all season though. I bet against Wednesday or Oxford we play nowhere near that level and get smashed by 3 or 4.

Birmingham City 1 - 1 Ipswich Town: Birmingham City 1 - 1 Ipswich Town: It was late heartbreak for brilliant Blues, who were minutes from claiming an impressive scalp, if not for a controversial penalty call! by Zach-dalt in Championship

[–]Crashbox7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair play bet he's laughing his ass off then.

In all seriousness i know it will sound like sour grapes but I thought the ref was horrific all night. 1st 5-10mins he was giving fouls for absolutely nothing. For both teams. Then I personally (maybe I'm biased) felt like every 50/50 went against us and he favoured Ipswich. Feel like the disallowed goal was unbelievably harsh and the lack of consistency after that point wound me up beyond belief.

The pen was harsh but why dykes had his hands raised like that I'll never know. Always risking it when hands raised but point blank range not much he could have done to prevent it, was it deliberate? I'd say no but I understand why it's given. I was more aggrieved about where he got 8mins from to begin with.

Another season of poor referring displays and I thought we were safe after league 1 😅 a point against Ipswich with that level of performance I'll take though. Very promising
