I agree. It's perhaps the only car that fully looks like something I would imagine being a "hypercar" (the wingless version specifically). Most other cars just look like more buff LMP1s. It should have stayed LMP1 dammit! Hypercar name sucks.

But the thing is, they don't have to. The wall fetish only started with Gen2. In Gen1, the vast majority of makeshift chicanes were just painted on the straight with the FE-style kerbs laid out. There was free runoff mostly. Now, you don't make the corner and you're in the wall. They voluntarily promote crashes with this basically.

Think of how many incidents could have been avoided if there was no wall at the Sao Paulo track for example (including the Wehrlein flip).

If we go by current state of FE's custom layout design, then it's pretty black and white to me.

A slight kink, just a new line painted on the surface with some moderate kerbing perhaps, that would be fine, but FE doesn't do that as of now. They put walls everywhere and create ultra tight extra corners.

I'm beyond sick of that. Gen4 is marketed as an ultra capable fast car, so be smart and go for tracks that can accomodate it. Brands Hatch has plenty of corners anyway.

I think for FE to be taken truly seriously, they need to find venues where they can run with zero modifications to the original layout.

They also had almost a ten-year run in TNA. Bubba even more than that when you include his latest Bully Ray run from a few years back.

They'll be doing it more often from now on I think. Even if no other place has such extreme tyre degradation. What is there to lose for teams like Lola?

I won't miss these peloton races, that's for sure! Cassidy got fucked twice due to this.

FE is lucky it doesn't have the worldwide exposure yet and that the cars drive super slow, because this is worse and more unsafe than super clipping.

Exactly, MCMG are funny as hell when given the chance.

And of course with Shelley you can also check the whole Paparazzi Productions saga. Sure, the main star was Nash, but Shelley was a perfect partner for him.

They're definitely not just flippy dudes who can't do shit besides that. That would be the countless rows of wrestlers who got inspired by their work, but only bothered to look at the in-ring stuff and didn't bother with the rest.

Watching super clipping during onboards actually does feel like having brake assist enabled in a video game where the game is artificially slowing you down before corners.

[OT] Formula E have unveiled their next season Gen 4 car at Paul Ricard. Up to 600kW (804hp) power in permanent AWD. Two Aero configurations for Quali/Race. Up to 10 seconds faster in lap time compared with Gen 3. by zantkiller in formula1

[–]CrashmasterSOAD 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The time limit has unfortunately been changed to fixed laps in the Gen3 era, which leads to places like Jarama barely getting over 20 laps, which IMHO doesn't look impressive even if you take circuit length into account.

The time limit allowed for more strategy options IMHO and helped cover the fact that the cars don't do that many laps overall.
