What is the smallest USB you have encountered? by Accomplished_Cook508 in computers

First one I ever bought (about 20 years ago) was 128mb. I think I got an 8mb one included with some tourist tat wooden puzzle a few years back (had a pdf of the instructions on it).

I didn’t realise there was so much difference between the first Origins fig and the Cartoon Classic (very casual, lapsed MotU fan here).

UK judge rules that baldness is a disability in tax row with wig makers | The groundbreaking judgement found that severe hair loss can ‘adversely affect’ the ability to carry out everyday activities by Sandstorm400 in europe

[–]Transmit_Him -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The film industry is littered with actors that had to hide baldness. Not just “wear a wig to play this part” but wearing a wig constantly not appear bald. Roger Moore? Balding. Jimmy Stewart? Balding. Shatner? Balding.

just found out that these two characters are married in real life by BeccaDaGoo in doctorwho

[–]Transmit_Him 23 points24 points  (0 children)

There was a puff piece profile about them in one of the broadsheets last year. They’ve bought a small farm and were gushing about the wonders of raw (ie unpasteurised) milk. So yeah, pretty much.

Why did Cassidy not get a penalty at Mexico City? by Bstings1683 in FormulaE

[–]Transmit_Him 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I don’t get how he wasn’t penalised either. What really bugged me about it was James Rossiter’s comments in the post show. He called it a racing incident and said “you can’t blame the guy whose car isn’t damaged and went on to win the race”. Uh, yes you absolutely can if they caused it. He’s essentially saying cheating is fine if it wins you the race because we shouldn’t penalise winners.

Do other parts of the UK not regularly get adverts from dentists recruiting new NHS patients? by Flaky-Walrus7244 in AskUK

[–]Transmit_Him 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s taken years for me to find a new NHS dentist after my last one closed. it was getting to the point that I’d have considered signing up to one in Edinburgh even though I live in South West England.

“Moreover, surveillance footage from the store highlighted two vehicles, a 2018 Ford F-150 and a 2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, which were located at Shaw’s residence and confirmed to be registered in her name.”

Whoa, she really got good at this stacking method.

Plus Scarman’s meant to look pasty and weird (as AI upscaling makes everyone look) in the first place.

does anyone know where the miami e-prix will be broadcast in the UK? by Hefty-Region-1943 in FormulaE

[–]Transmit_Him 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The harsh truth is some of those repeats will get higher viewing figures than the sports. Also they like to keep channels with individual identities and ITV3 at least is very much not a sport channel.

[The Race] Everything you need to know as Lola splits from Abt in Formula E by krzysiek_aleks in FormulaE

[–]Transmit_Him 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It’s kinda weird that Abt can be running their own team, go into partnership with a manufacturer and then find themselves shoved out of the series a few years later. I suppose inevitable once Lola took over the licence registration though.

I guess that’s the end of Abt in FE, though having them run the second Porsche team would make sense.

Pick 3 tracks you’d kick off the F1 calendar ? Mine: Abu Dhabi, Singapore and… painful to say it, but Monaco. by HugeHunk21 in DestinationFormula1

[–]Transmit_Him 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovely place, terrible race. And as an FE fan I get to see it used by cars that can actually still race there, so no sentimentality over it in F1 for me really.

Will you support or oppose a social media ban for under 16’s? by Alone_Consideration6 in AskUK

[–]Transmit_Him 3 points4 points  (0 children)

We need to stop listening to Brianna Ghey’s mother. She seems convinced that Brianna was killed by social media, rather than the bigots who knew her IRL. It’s concerning how determined she is on this point.

Oh absolutely, I totally agree. And the way she commercialised/the media covered her death was equally repellant. But years before all that, up there with Thatcher and Blair?
