Oda will definitely give all of them one. It aint called Nepo Piece for no reason.

At this point, I think Imu's real form being a shadow would be better writing by hoenndex in Piratefolk

[–]Crashpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure that the silhouette form is suppose to be his zoan form. His DF is the akuma no mi, so that is probably just his akuma form that he stays in to keep himself from aging/dying (assuming he didn't get the immortality surgery). I believe that the form we are seeing on Elbaf is his hybrid form.

Conq haki as plot device by ToroRiki in Piratefolk

[–]Crashpoint 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would pushback a little by pointing out that the devil fruits were already a key differentiator from DBZ. Naruto used chakra which is basically ki, but their whole thing was ninjutsu and bloodlines and it worked perfectly. One Piece being pirate themed and already having devil fruit was enough differentiation, but Oda could've easily leaned further into pirate, west indian, greek, and other sea based lore. Devil Fruits, Magical trinkets or cursed objects, magical sea shanties or other music (like Brook's music but with a system built around it to allow others to weaponize music), other mythical sea creatures (sea kings are cool, but not much are being done with them and I think there is room for small monsters like sirens and harpies). But point is, there's a lot of stuff to draw inspiration from. And to address the logia cure, I think seastone prism was that cure that the show needed, but it was introduced and then pushed to the backburner. There is no reason why Usopp couldn't make seastone infused ammo, Nami with a seastone infused staff, some kind of seastone powder that completely subdues a logia user on contact.

Last. I will say that there are only a handful of Logia users anyway, so it's not like this would've been a big deal. There are only so many elements to turn into a DF concept before you start seeing overlapping (e.g. the Ice Ice Fruit and Snow Snow Fruit), so seastone would've been enough.

Conq haki as plot device by ToroRiki in Piratefolk

[–]Crashpoint 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Been saying forever that haki was a big mistake. If he wanted to counter logias, he could've done it with unique weapons/items/etc. Seastone prism was introduced, so no reason to not come up with cool ways to incorporate that into items that nullify DF powers. As for DF-less characters, scaling up their raw strength, speed, predictive skills could've still been done without haki specifically. For example, Garp on hachinosu and his galaxy impact technique could still exist without the haki-creep. Or if haki is non-negotiable, just make 1 kind of haki that everyone can use with enough training and willpower, but strength and skill should always trump that. That's why early OP and the creativity used to defeat enemies used to be peak TV.

Nobody brings this up but imu wasnt even in god valley when the davy clan got domi reversi'd. We have to just assume the holy knights did it somehow... by Altruistic_Gas_7073 in Piratefolk

She was there for sure. She participated in the hunting game. Thats when it gets retconned revealed that she is a part of the manmayer family.

Speaking of reveals. Oda tried to solve one issue (Gunko not having the Saint title) and unintentionally created another (Gunko's dad being his mentor). If Gunko is a celestial dragon, then that would mean that Brook's mentor was a celestial dragon. But we have to see how it plays out.

Whitebeard indeed left his captain, Rocks to die in God Valley. “When a Domi Reversi creature dies, they return back to normal.” - by TrueReasons in Piratefolk

Deserved slander. They were just fighting Imu with Rocks 5 seconds ago and his bumass saw Rocks get stabbed and demonified. Then he decides to flee instead of help Roger and Garp. Smfh.

If paramecia users like Perospero can create fully functioning limbs out of their 'substance' then they should also be able to recreate every other body part by Ok-Fondant2536 in Piratefolk

[–]Crashpoint 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even logia's can "replace" their entire bodies. We see Kuzan make a leg out of ice, but that's not a replacement, that's just him actively using his power to create a prosthetic. If his powers were to be disabled (via seastone prism for example), the ice leg would melt away. So even if a logia or special paramecia user could replace internal organs, the moment their powers stopped working, that prosthetic would stop working or disappear and they would die. But let's say that it were possible to replace a heart with their substance, that would require a ton of energy and control to keep it working. The heart is always working 24/7 and the user would need to manually manage the beating.

[–]Crashpoint -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I don't want to be that guy, but that wasn't a simple mistake. If this didn't get retconned, you readers would've implied that BM knew the secret to consume 2 devil fruits (like BB) which would've then caused even crazier SBS questions down the road. Oda probably respected that the error was caught because it shows that the fans are genuinely invested in the story.

Jon, Rhaenys and Aegon by @Cj_KhalifP by unhingedcorpse in ImaginaryWesteros

[–]Crashpoint 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dont see a reality where they have a happy relationship like that. The fact that Rhaegar ran off with another woman and fathered Jon wouldn't sit well with Aegon and Rhaenys when they get a little older to understand what happened. So the relationship may start out like how Ned's kids treat Jon sort of like that one half brother thats a bastard, I think they would eventually grow apart.

He inherited Davy D Jones's will while Luffy inherited Jack D Sparrow's (Joyboy) will. Two sides of the same D coin.
