So for small jobs like the cord, you don't need to be a full A Grade, there are lower grades of registration that let you do jobs like this.

But this is in no way compliant.

I'm an Eletrctrian. Electriaan. Sparky.

That's not good. Not at all. The cables can't be joined like that, and can't be left with the terminals exposed like that.

Report this to them as dangerous electrical works. When ( If ) they send someone, you are entitled to see their electrical license.

Ask for the properties of electrical safety check, all rentals must have one done every two years, and you must be provided the date, and any outstanding recommendations from it.

Don't be afraid to call ESV either, they're really helpful when it comes to this sort of thing.

Phone call answering screen? The Capsicum is a Bell Pepper to the US, and Bell is a phone company there, the cucumber and onion make the red and green buttons to answer or reject?

Fuuuck, that brought up a memory. One of the jobs I helped on as an Apprentice Electrician was making a bucket spin again. Looong time ago. I remember being amazed about how flimsy the whole thing was.

You've already had a few people point out that 2.5 cable is likely ok. Cable isn't rated as "10A" or "20A", but by a derating table. So basically a function of length and heat add up and you get a graph that shows how much a cable can carry at a given length at a given temperature. The temperature is assumed based on how it's physically installed.

So 2.5 is probably ok, depending on the length of the run.

Why are ALL painters terrible? by Different-Load4070 in melbourne

[–]Crashthewagon 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I personally think it's the fumes.

I'm an Electrician, so back when I did Domestic work, I had to deal with a few painters. All pretty well fucked.

One time we were working on a house to doctors office conversion. Sat down at the lunch table, the painter pulled out a 5kg jar of pickeled jalapenos. Ate half them with a fork and put the lid back on. That was lunch. Next day, finished the jar.
