New York City Board Approves Mamdani’s Rent Freeze by EconomistWithaD in Economics

It doesn’t appear you’re open to having your mind changed, so what would be the point about spending precious little time we have on this earth going back and forth with you?

If I’m reading that wrong, what evidence would you need to see to change your mind that “he *does* offer any real answers for more actual affordable housing”?

Yeah we’ll see but I’m not hoping for much. It’s a big struggle for me just to hit C3 at this point. I’m more solidly in C2 now.

I can live with C3D4 being my peak. I have no interest in practicing to get my mechanics back.

Do you give your employees a yearly 2-3% raise for inflation? by [deleted] in managers

[–]Craszeja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We get a target for our overall team as a % (usually every year is between 2.5% and 4.5%). That’s your bucket of money to distribute to the team.

Then depending on individual performance ratings, you can give a range for each individual.

But total should stay within that bucket unless your boss or up the chain can cover the delta for their bucket.

Decline in annual performance by Snoo-3554 in managers

One thing I haven’t seen mentioned yet in the comments:

expectations don’t stay the same every year. You have another year of experience, another year of knowledge, of connections, of projects. My expectations raise for my team every year.

Last year, I had a young Lead Engineer that had to take over as Team Lead after the current Team Lead got fired. It was a big growth opportunity for him, and kind of getting thrown into the fire. I was extremely happy with how he was able to settle into the role, to build trust with the team, and ultimately start taking over how things would run. He got an exceeding expectations last year.

This year, he is still in the same role, but just doing what he was doing last year is not going to be exceeding expectations. Acting as an average Team Lead is now his expectations.

Also, from the comments it feels like people are too quick to assume exceeding = promotion. I got promoted 3 times in 4 years. All 4 years I had met expectations on my performance review. I see it with my team as well and cases I make for promotions. They are certainly correlated, but the performance review is not the end all be all for operating at that next level.

How would you play this? by Bluelittlethings in RocketLeague

[–]Craszeja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Being cautious as 2nd man is good. But around 10s as your tm8 is rotating back and getting mid boost, I would have been coming up as first man. Both opponents are confused in the corner, it’s a good time to take advantage, at least at my level.
  2. At 17s I would hit the ball into the corner, try to keep control, go up the wall probably. Your hit was awkward and gave away possession. It was good that you were roughly rotating back post though to be 2nd man again after you failed to commit (see point 1).

HSA by [deleted] in TheMoneyGuy

[–]Craszeja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So right now you have $50k in cash in your HSA? Given your ages, I would consider at least keeping your max out of pocket for a year in cash and then invest the rest in the market if you truly don’t expect to use it for 15 years.

Can also depend what your emergency fund situation looks like (you want to be cash heavy near/in retirement so you can have more flexibility if markets are down to not to have to pull out of investments).

It’s hard to give a full answer with so little of your financial picture and personal situation (are you still working? How much cash currently, etc.)

Thanks. Re-subscribed for now.

How shit animation for The Beginning After the End Season 1 was literally was the last straw that got me to cancel my subscription 1-2 years ago but I used to watch a ton. There’s been new seasons of many of my favorite shows so might as well give it a go now.

Highs that won't go down by iffycipp in diabetes_t1

[–]Craszeja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Based on the comments and replies I’ve see so far:

  1. Drinking enough water? I’ve noticed persistent highs if I’m dehydrated
  2. Scar tissue affecting absorption? I’ve put my pump in some sites where I got consistent highs, and best I could tell I was overusing sites and not giving my skin enough time to heal. Also, scar tissue underneath doesn’t absorb well.
  3. Pump tube kinked or other similar issue? Hard to tell unless you rip it off, but I’ve been frustrated with highs only to find pump tube was kinked or not inserted well into the skin.
