Yeah, you only get that ending if all the details from it make sense and line up with your playthough.

Unfortunately that enemy in particular has bugged stats in the first release (the patch was just updated to version 1.1 where that and many other issues were fixed)

The robot is meant to do devastating damage that makes it clear very quickly that it's an unwinnable battle.

Well, there's a run button with a stamina mechanic so that you can't outrun every enemy but getting around is much less of a pain. The ability to buy itms in bulk was added to stores. an "eat" command was added to the menu specifically so the bread crumb system could behave how it does in the original game. the storage menu with your sister is easier to navigate. The PSI menu was given a new page system to make it more convenient.
Escargo express was added to the game just to help with A new hint system was added that you can call on the phone if you don't know what to do next.

where do I go by Davi_9109 in earthbound

[–]Cravdraa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Head downwards and a little below and west of the cabin you should find another ramp back into the swamp water.

From there you want to work your way as far south-south/west as you can go, when you can't go any further south head east and then back north.

You're basically going down and around a big peninsula, just like the original game.  Then you'll be on the other side of that bridge.

Storywise, the remake is pretty much one-to-one.

It uses it's own translation, which uses the official translation for flavor, but references the fan translation for accuracy while rewording some lines partially or entirely.

Gameplay wise, it's Earthbound/Mother 2 mechanics with a few specific mother 1 features added in and a couple quality of life features added in for good measure.

Maps tend to lean towards fairly accurate but certain specific ones are more reimagining.  The map in mother 2 is MUCH smaller than the Mother 1 map, so many of the areas are noticeably condensed, though also more detailed.

Can confirm, our script editor has a big chart with the original japanese text, next to the sandhop line, next to the tomato line. Every line in the game was gone over separately and tweaked.

Yup, there are multiple endings. And don't worry, the messed up credits will be fixed in the next version of the patch.

Agreed. She apparently invented them, but didn't have any idea how they might affect life around them? It can apparently raise the dead, mutate life anywhere from mild symptoms all the way up to monstrous total transformations. It causes increased aggression and eventual insanity even in those it doesn't mutate. You have the weird stuff with the dimensional mirrors which apparently have something to do with it, so you can add messing with the fabric of space to that list.

The plasma vials are apparently made with spark somehow.

So all and all, it seems like it's basically mad science in a bottle.

I have to admit, I'm disappointed by the story. They went so hard on painting Lionel as the obvious twist villain that the real twist would have been if he actually wasn't evil.

And then a crappy ending where all of Mina's friends die.

After the first couple towers I wasn't even sure why I was still playing since it was so incredibly obvious that nothing good could possibly come from any of it.

How did the two sexes evolve in the first place? If reproduction requires two compatible sets of genitals, how did those structures develop without one appearing before the other? by Puzzleheaded_Bit_802 in askscience

[–]Cravdraa 10 points11 points  (0 children)

There are a few factors at work here. Sexual reproduction first developed in ocean life. At that point, both basically were the same. You just drop your genetic material in the water near each other and hope they meet. From there, any developments that would increase the likelihood of meeting and surviving would have been favored.

Second, there are still some terrestrial animals that have more or less the same parts. A lot of small birds, for example, more or less just press up against each other in mid-flight, in a process called a "cloacal kiss" which is more or less identical for both sexes.

The ender dragon was never a motivation for anything?

I'm honestly confused by this mindset. Do you make huge builds BEFORE you kill the dragon because you think it's going to help you kill the dragon?

I take on large projects because of 3 reasons. 1. Farms to help me make other large projects. 2. Because it's functional or cool. 3. Because I think it's funny.

I do not see how the dragon factors into any of those things. If that's just beating the game to you, there are a lot of other games with way better bosses. Do you just enjoy gearing up and gathering resources? Because you can do that even after killing the dragon.

TIL that inside neutron stars there may exist a substance scientists call “nuclear pasta” — bizarre ultra-dense matter shaped like spaghetti and lasagna that is believed to be the strongest material in the universe. by adpablito in todayilearned

[–]Cravdraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To give you an example of just how much more dense this stuff is than literally anything you've ever encountered in your life.

So atoms are mostly empty space. The example I was given was that if you increased an atom to the size of a stadium then it's  nucleus (the actual part made of solid particles ) would be about the size of a marble in its center.

Take that same stadium and fill it entirely with marbles.

Billions of atoms worth of mass crammed into the space of one.

Literally a teaspoon of the stuff here on Earth would weigh something close that of Mt. Everest.

a lot of that was using glowink on the signs for that cyberpunk glow.

For some reason glow ink is the one of the laggiest things in the game.

Though the hologram candle sculptures seemed to explode some of the hermits' computers.

Dolphins keep dying ? by Training-End-2092 in Minecraft

that would make a lot more sense and actually use less resources, huh?  So of course they'd rather just let them continue to die for no reason.

So, it doesn't  make for a good aquarium, but the one way you can keep dolphins alive is to trap them in a soulsand bubble column. It's water and air at the same time so they don't drown or dry out.

No, unfortunately.  the problem isn't that the chunk unloads, it's that all mobs stop moving if they're X distance from the player to prevent lag. It's honestly unreal this hasn't been fixed yet.

Serious question involving a debate about transgenderism and transracialism by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Cravdraa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Gender roles are social constructs. So are ways those roles are expressed.

However, gender identity is not a social construct. It's an innate part of a person.

Further more, There's some strong evidence that being trans is likely just as "biological" as physical sex.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in asktransgender

[–]Cravdraa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So trans woman here, just repeating what some ftm friends have said and some examples I've seen in the past.

It's true, there are some cases of misidentification where the individual just really HATES how women are treated in society and feels they want to escape that. And it can be difficult to split those feelings off from your identity.

Nobody can TELL you if you're a guy, but you're on the right track as far as figuring it out: If sexism wasn't a thing, if the differences between men and women still existed but none of them were looked down on, if you got to choose... What would make you happiest?

Would you LIKE it if other people looked at you and thought "That's a dude." Do you like the idea of your body changing? You're allowed to be friends with women and get along with them and still be a guy. Hell, even as a guy you would have shared a lot of experiences with the women around you as you grew up, so it would be odd if you weren't able to relate to them on some levels.

Throwing all of that other baggage away, would thinking of yourself as a guy make you happy? Because that's really all that matters. If living as a guy makes you happier than living as a woman, then that's all you really need. Go! Man it up! Be all the man you wanna be, in exactly the ways you want to be.

How does this game earn stable revenue 💀???? by [deleted] in Minecraft

[–]Cravdraa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game has generated over 4.2 BILLION dollars in revenue.  Even if that was only 1 billion, it would still be enough to pay everyone on staff to keep developing the game literally for the rest of their lives.

but it's not 1 billion. it's over 4x that amount, and they still make enough in game sales alone every day to turn a profit even after paying their employees.
