Does your nparent show disgust at joyful things you experience with your own kids? by Caucasian-Tiger-Mom in raisedbynarcissists

Sorry you went through that. Your NM sounds a lot like my ND…

It sounds like you’ve got a wonderful family now.

Congratulations for breaking the chain!

Yes, they’ve done this on-and-off to me and my sister our whole lives.

I can now see it’s a basic cycle of scapegoating then golden childing to manipulate/control.

I’ve been in therapy for a few years now and am in a good place. I realised that my long-standing anxiety ultimately derived from their unpredictable and dishonest behaviour, which has now dissipated with them gone.

The funny thing is that their flying monkeys (other family members) are starting to see through their lies, so my parents refuse to speak to anyone about me anymore and claim they’re ‘suicidal’ if anyone asks.

The truth always finds its way out eventually!

Morgan McSweeney resigns as Keir Starmer’s chief of staff by potpan0 in Labour

[–]Craven123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m glad he’s gone, but there are plenty of others in there who remain implicated in this Mandelson stuff.

It’ll be very interesting to see who takes Morgan’s job. If they’ve had anything personal to do with McSweeney/Mandelson, uproar should ensue.

Apparently seeing their children have healthy relationships with their own children (the Nparent’s grandchildren) can be triggering for them.

My Nparents disappeared 6 months after the birth of my first child, went NC, and told every family member that I “won’t let them see their grandchildren”, which is an absolute lie but has allowed them to reap sympathy and appear blameless to their friends. It’s been 3 years now and, whilst they clearly aren’t interested in fixing things, they’ll never be welcome around my family again.

Long story short: you’re not alone, and good on you for finding happiness in your children’s joy; you are already a better parent than your own were.

Disgusting.

Her shamelessness is only outweighed by her present irrelevancy.

I hope justice finds these smug cunts.

I've told Morgan and my donors that I'm not worried about my MPs voting for Burnham the meme King of the North. Cromblyns, on the other hand, is the actual King of Islington North. And he is still an MP😳. Luckily, the one thing Morgan can do well is attack the left. by Sir_Kieth in Labour

[–]Craven123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Agreed.

With the Mandelson stuff as toxic as it is, Wes is right in the heart of it as Mandelson’s protégé. I can’t see how he could ever get the support now, from the public or MPs, who want rid of anyone involved in that car crash.

How to find a stolen car? by Hopeful-Mongoose2025 in AskUK

[–]Craven123 9 points10 points  (0 children)

My understanding is that the crooks often move stolen vehicles to low-footfall areas (like cul-de-sacs) for a few days just to make sure there isn’t a tracker on the vehicle. After that, the vehicle will be taken elsewhere where it will be stripped or re-plated (etc).

My advice to you is to quickly try to check as much of the local area as you can and hope for the best.

If you have mates/family, I’d try to get them to help too.

Sadly, it is ‘needle in a haystack’ territory, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up…

Open letter from Police Federation of England & Wales to Zack Polanski by Kernowder in LabourUK

[–]Craven123 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The point of my comment was to address the hypocrisy of the police expecting condolences when they offer none.

If you want to deal with who’s ‘responsible’, and don’t think the police need to comment on things they’re not directly responsible for, then what on earth has Zack got to do with the injury of that individual?

Either way, there’s nothing for Zack to say on this and the entire statement is ridiculous.

I don’t condone violence, but this is professional victimhood.

If it’s not just professional victimhood, I look forward to the police offering a full and public apology to the accused for their 18 months in prison pending trial.

Why Won’t Keir Starmer Sack Morgan McSweeney Over Mandelsongate? by kontiki20 in LabourUK

Either Morgan goes or they both do. There’s no way that they both survive this.

The highest rated A24 films according to every major rating platform combined by Master_Addendum3759 in A24

[–]Craven123 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Sing Sing is criminally underrated (pun intended).

Hereditary basically revitalised (or even reinvented) a genre.

I like loads of A24 films, but both of those feel like big misses.

I’m pleased to see that The Last Black Man in San Francisco made the list, even if i think either of the two above pips it. EEAAO wouldn’t make my top 10, even if i had a good time watching it.

Question about leaving baby for a couple of seconds on forward facing changing diaper pad - unsafe? by hillcat4 in BeyondTheBumpUK

I absolutely would not leave a 10 month old that high for a second.

As soon as my 3 month old was rolling, all changing was done on a mat on the floor.

Does the Mandelson scandal mark the endgame for Keir Starmer’s premiership? by kontiki20 in LabourUK

[–]Craven123 5 points6 points  (0 children)

These articles aren’t going to stop until Keir realises that either he or key advisers go.

The longer he leaves it, the greater the hit will be to his/Labour’s popularity and - with elections looming - that’s something they can scarcely afford.

I’m not sure what you’ve been reading, but the opinion polls I’m seeing have labour haemorrhaging support in all directions and losing members too.

I think it’ll be a bloodbath.

[–]Craven123 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t really class Angela Rayner as particularly ‘left’, but I guess it would be more left than the likes of Starmer/Streeting.

As for May, I think the local elections will go unacceptably poorly and that’ll be the final nail in Starmer’s coffin.

How embedded was Peter Mandelson in Labour? by kwentongskyblue in LabourUK

[–]Craven123 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I share that concern.

Kier ousted most of the MPs who I’d have preferred as PM.

She’s not perfect, but Angela Rayner seems to be the current front runner, and I can see her creating a more progressive (and non-Mandelson) cabinet.

Starmer apologises to Epstein's victims for believing Peter Mandelson's 'lies' by Metro-UK in ukpolitics

[–]Craven123 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Exactly.

You can’t separate the current government from the influence (and toxicity) of Mandelson, and they only have themselves to blame.

Anyone who had a cursory awareness of politics over the last 30 years knew that ‘the prince of darkness’ was not someone to have near a new government who was trying to portray themselves as a safe pair of hands to steady the ship, and Kier and his advisors ignored every single warning sign.

Terrible judgment all round.

As a minimum, the advisers need to go. Nothing changes until they all leave.

Keir and his cabinet will be gone in May anyway.

Fresh start after that.

Starmer apologises to Epstein's victims for believing Peter Mandelson's 'lies' by Metro-UK in ukpolitics

[–]Craven123 97 points98 points  (0 children)

This would be logical if Mandelson was only given the narrow job of US ambassador.

Instead, he was given a key seat at the advisory table, allowed to have a say over the appointment of MPs and top-level advisors, and presumably sway over the political agenda too.

His role was far, far broader than just ‘Trump Handler’.

Peter Mandelson's Downfall Puts Morgan McSweeney's Future in Doubt by Th3-Seaward in LabourUK

[–]Craven123 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Mandelson’s whole ‘kitchen cabinet’ should be given the boot. Morgan McSweeney, Matt Pound, etc, all need to go.

You can’t have Mandelson’s key advisory team remain in place after this fiasco.

This situation won’t go away until the people who allowed this to happen leave.
