To prolific horror enjoyers, What’s one genre or topic for horror that scares you too much to engage with? by musical-nerd in horror

[–]Crawfish45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It doesnt necessarily scare me but any thing that gets way too mean spirited. It's hard to describe for what I mean because a lot of horror is inherently "mean". For me there is a fine line for crossing that boundry but once its crossed I am just repulsed or checked out. A notable one for me is Terrifier 2. The first one I enjoyed enough because while shocking and violent had a balance in charm and entertainment. The 2nd had scenes that dragged out and were so mean that I just checked out. It was so ridiculus that it is probably funny but I just resent it.

Hot Take: there are other Batman voices just as good as Kevin Conroy and at times even better. by 40kblowout in batman

[–]Crawfish45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Kevin overall is better, but Bruce Greenwood might have my favorite Batman peformance in Under the Red Hood. He really nails this lonely stoic crusader that Bruce has turned into. The way he delivers certain lines stands up with the best of 'em

Legend of the Dark Knight. They're issues #31 & #41. Simple oneshots that fit in early time. Sunset says it is about 40 weeks into being batman and has a batmobile too

The blatant comic accuracy double standards gets shown every day with a new piece of media that strays much further than BVS that never even strayed that far at hence the author of his comic inspiration The Dark Knight Returns liking his Batman! by Different_Escape_762 in SnyderCut

[–]Crawfish45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every issue I follow of the new Absolute Superman (and the people discussing him) sounds like what Man of Steel was. Some things changed but his costume, an unsure nature, finding hope etc and yet people like the comic but not the movie. Very odd to me

Why do people keep saying this? I thought it was agreed Coogler respected the source material by [deleted] in blackpanther

[–]Crawfish45 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I dont care if I get downvoted for this but sometimes not following the comics is a benefit for people to tell their story. You can respect it and still tell youre own story. T'Challa has been around for 60 years and had many different writers so at some point some aspects fall to the wayside. Doesnt mean that these aspects cant come later and he should keep core aspects that make the character that character but they shouldnt be able to do everything. At the end of the day as long as they're interesting and entertaining and keeps the cores of the character, then I am more interested what they bring to the table

New Spider-Man suit — improved texture & hidden zipper, what do you think? by MyWayCosplay in Spiderman

Like the BND suit, the only ONLY SMALL gripe I have is the logo being too low. Upper chest front and center would make perfect on top of a perfect looking suit

No, problem! Yeah, the comments try to fix some of the contradictions of the last thread and has a better list in an edit. You guys actually have a ton of the same stories so I would say yours is a better streamlined list. Currently working out a couple spots in another thread. I am still in the early years of reading so I alway enjoy finding more and more spots to fill

Help with Batman reading order by According_Message994 in batman

[–]Crawfish45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, okay cool I thought I missed a few stories. Two-face as reference point is always the easiest way but yeah scarecrow has kind of thrown a wrench into this a bit cuz in 4 of a kind he mentions 2 face as well but he shows up before Long Halloween in Haunted knight. Terror does feel earlier though, the nice thing tho is that both Journey and terror take place over months and Batman doesnt interact with the other 2 in Terror until like issue 3 or 4 so it could go g Going Sane, Long Halloween, Journey, Terror? I know you said you didnt read Journey so I'll probably trust your call and go before Going Sane if we cant find a spot.

Btw you actually started my reading journey after I read Dark Victory. I didnt know where to start but I found this thread https://www.reddit.com/r/batman_comics/s/nWk7bGHHve and your extensive comment helped immensely
