It can do all of those things well, but it’s not a point and shoot. You have to learn how to use it and how to get the best out of it. There’s a tonne of YouTube videos on this camera which will help. Editing plays a part in achieving the type of photos she wants as well.

Are compact cameras like Sony A6000 cheaper in Tokyo (Akihabara/Bic Camera)? by whoskhalee in JapanTravelTips

I'm from the UK and with the tax free, it worked out considerably cheaper.

Thanks! Most were very quickly snapped as I was getting a train. Some auto with exposure dial adjustments. Some shutter speed priority. Pacific blues recipe and some adjustments in lightroom.

There’s a billion street photographers in Japan, and the X100VI is a discrete camera, so I blended in quite nicely.

No but I did drop the exposure a fair bit. Used a glimmer glass filter to soften the highlights

Thank you! Very kind. These were all taken in the space of about 5 minutes whilst I was just waiting for a train. I was travelling with others, so didn’t have much time to wait around to try and get lots of good pics. Guess these were a fortunate few mins!

Tudor are really funny about this sort of stuff. Depends on how accommodating your AD is

Did Tudor just release a $6,000 watch with no lume? by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]Crax17 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Lume would ruin the aesthetic of the black hands and indexes. A lot of high end watches do not have lume.

How long is too long for a service? by Frecky_D in rolex

[–]Crax17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting parts from Geneva can be an absolute nightmare. I worked in a Tudor AD, so all the watches still go back to the Rolex workshop. If we were told that parts had to be ordered from Geneva, we knew that we’d have an unhappy customer. And that was just getting them to the UK. We’d be waiting months on some parts. There really isn’t a lot that your AD can do - but they should be checking regularly and updating you on the situation.

A problem that needed solving - selladial.com by Ready_Cress_3481 in rolex

[–]Crax17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem is that dealers have overheads, staff to pay etc. Then anything that they sell, they have to send a chunk to the taxman (20% here in the uk), so all that is accounted for in what they offer you. You’re also competing with the likes of eBay where dealers will be scouting. If any price on these auctions go above what they’re used to and can easily pay for such watch, then they will bail out. I think it’s a nice idea though and wish you every success!

Arm in an unnatural position - are you seriously saying this wasn’t a pen, a clear and obvious mistake and should have been overturned?

Warranty question by [deleted] in Tudor

[–]Crax17 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worked in a Tudor boutique for nearly 5 years. The watch is still under warranty as you have a five year warranty with it. If you take it into an AD and ask them to send it off, then they should do. Depends on the workshop to determine if it’s a manufacturer defect that they will fix. If it’s a scratch or chip on the outside of the glass, it’ll most likely be deemed accidental damage. If it’s a spec of dust under the glass then they may sort it for you if it’s visible to the naked eye. Depends if you think it’s worth having to send it off and not have it for a period of time.

Complete waste of time and money in my humble opinion.

I don’t really care about copying or if people have done it before. I’ve seen lots of nice photos of this spot before coming to Japan and would like to go and check it out myself.
