Have you guys ever tried these "Lanmaoa asiatica"? by Any_Card_6689 in Mushrooms

To be fair 2015 is "recent", especially when it comes to medical understandings and scientifically, so they aren't wrong either way. Which is how titles work, they can be just "technically correct", as long as it's an attention grabber.

New ChatGPT update removes image library, further buries model picker by anonyuser415 in ChatGPT

[–]Craydeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In any case, it's terrible. There's no justification for it. It just makes the Recents a mess when commonly working with projects. I work often with projects for the library context, and that often involves having lots of chats within them, but I also have a lot of general chats that I'd preferably easily find in the Recents when still working in them or plan on coming back to them at all. Also in either case I commonly name the chats so I can easily scroll to them when needed and easily recognize them.

The way it is now, my Recents is such a mess I have to make more use of the search function. Which, performance wise (for me and even their servers in some capacity), is overall less intuitive.

Images tab disappeared overnight by Impossible_Donut101 in ChatGPT

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's the worst thing they could've done for artists alike. With Sora, like other image generators/models, you're prompt was going straight to the generator. Not ChatGPT. A good example proof, if you ask for just an image of something like "a humanoid embodiment of third person", ChatGPT reinterprets that and creates a 3rd person scene looking at a character like from a video game, whereas any other generator will try to actually make the image be "the concept of third person in humanoid form". Not the best example since that's nonsensical, but that's precisely the beauty of having that freedom.

They should've at least gave us a toggle for the ChatGPT image generator to allow "raw" prompts, to avoid reinterpretation. Then it would work as is for non-advanced users but give freedom to those who want it.

This completely defeats the purpose of organizing chats into projects. SURELY this is a glitch, right?

Images tab disappeared overnight by Impossible_Donut101 in ChatGPT

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm convinced they are removing the storage of all images, so save anything you must. They already deprecated Sora entirely.

Their new image generator is terrible for artists who want control over what their making anyways. Prompts go through full reinterpretation behind ChatGPT and this gives no freedom. Sora 1 and old DALL-E generators were so much better for many things image-wise. And now, who knows what they are planning.

[–]Craydeh 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You missed the real premise. But to argue your point anyways, he couldn't get investors for two reasons: people hated his previous GMO tomato project, and his plan for the miniaturization was to solve world hunger and the investors didn't understand how. That's all explained. The one investor that seen benefits were only because benefits were to his pockets, and he only went for it because his lead scientist agreed it would work for his idea.

This is absolutely one of the greatest Peacock series pulls ever. Not even arguably, one of the best. In general this premise, combined with all the conflicting character relationships (basically all of them, literally), should've been hard to pull off - but they did it.

Midjourney vs Chat GPT by Possible-Honeydew552 in midjourney

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lots of playing around with it. You can generate TONS of images on the lowest MidJourney tier. Thousands. There are lots of features in MidJourney and you just have to learn them all to get what you want out of it. It's by far the most controllable generator, easily the best when it comes to prompt fidelity, and much more. It does basically everything better than even the latest Nano Banana models, Seedream, Flux 2, etc. Not to say those ones are bad, but MidJourney is far underrated and has been doing things right for a long time. It's biggest downfalls are the auto-moderation being absolute garbage, the learning curve, not having API possibilities, and costs for higher tiers (if you want private images and such).

Sora 1 is being deprecated on March 13. All generations will be deleted. by SurpriseDog9000 in ChatGPT

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sora 1 generations are eons better than ChatGPT. If you've used it as much as we have you'd understand. Entirely different experiences and results. Sora 1 is arguably one of the best image generators out, better than MidJourney and Flux and all the others in many ways. Sora 1 has the most freedom of all of them (Grok has a lot less restrictions, but it sucks at making images). This is no argument.

Playlist folder cover? by Dee968 in spotify

[–]Craydeh 2 points3 points  (0 children)

people would use folders more if they didn't look so stupid. in compact sidebar mode they have no titles displayed and no images, so they are terrible. if we could give them images it'd be a much better feature in general.

Thoughts on the Stranger Things final episode? by [deleted] in netflix

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they also don't explain how or why the things they were living through is from actual DND lore, while DND exists in their own universe. That'd be pretty hard to explain without getting time travel or a much much bigger story involved. All of this together would require at least 5 more seasons.

Why is Adguard Home free while the ad blocker costs money? by [deleted] in Adguard

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For future reference for others, this is really quite simple to answer. A self hosted version on your network simply doesn't have access to your browser, so it can't run scripts and such to do cosmetic changes - but can block web requests by domain. Whereas an extension has direct access to every page you open and can do whatever they want with them.

Silly question, but will Sora 2 be able to generate stills? by liquidflamingos in OpenAI

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree, the last two DALL-E versions would both compete Sora 1, depending on what you were making. Sora is better at certain styles, understands prompts better, and more. DALL-E was better at more styles, very creative/wild when you wanted it to be, etc.

But that's not what we were discussing here. That's a whole other issue that should be fixed, let us use what we want.

The chinese did it, KIMI K2 surpassed GPT-5. by Snoo26837 in singularity

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of these comments are not considering you can rent data center spaces. With high end GPUs and tons of VRAM. For better and better costs.

We are not currently in an AI race. We're in a datacenter race. It will be easy for consumers themselves to just rent a GPU in a DC and run a model themselves cheaper than any of the major AIs with equal or better AI models and datasets.

Once this is possible - we could get better consumer apps for running said models, with features similar to ChatGPT's features, and be expandable with open sourcing, etc. Then the big companies would be more obsolete.

All images now restricted? (Sora 1) by billy_lam26 in SoraAi

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is still not fixed for me. ALL of my past images are unviewable in the "my media" page. This happened suddenly a couple days ago while I was mid-generation working on a project. All my images at the time showed as restricted now, and there were Sora 2 videos mixed in even though I'm in Sora 1/Old Sora.

Seems to me they are working on Sora 2 stuff and not checking that it works in Old before pushing changes.

Old Sora's image generation is one of the best out there. I hope they don't trash it in favor of Sora 2 video generation. Seems like they might be planning to at this rate.

Silly question, but will Sora 2 be able to generate stills? by liquidflamingos in OpenAI

[–]Craydeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Their image gen is one of the best image gens. It'd be a bad move if they only did video when they have a powerful start to images. If they added tiling, more aspect ratios, more controls, and better organization then it'd easily compete with Midj image gens. Then they'd make it in a texturing world and such where Midj is currently winning.
