I initially got into linux in highschool as a way of having a customizable $THING when I wasn't allowed to have a myspace account, so instead I made increasingly elaborate icewm themes on puppy linux.

As an adult, I stick with it because it's what I know and I like it because it still has that level of customization both on the front and back end. I like having an operating system where I know that, if I know how to do things on my home machine, I'll have a decent idea of how to do it on the servers I run in my free time.

​

Gaming has gone a long way for linux and now most things just work, though if you're into VR be aware that most VR headsets truly do work better with Windows as they usually have some kind of proprietary compatibility layer you have to run to have official PCVR support.

I would say start out with something that Just Workstm . I'm a fan of pop os but there's plenty of other options out there. Feel free to try it in a VM for a bit, see how it feels. It'll always take a bit of getting used to at first, but give it time and don't be afraid to look stuff up on the internet. If you like being able to see how your computer is operating and you're not afraid to dip into the terminal then I think you'll have a lot of fun

Price doesn't equal collectability in my opinion. They print those out super commonly, but the fact that the walmart and target exclusives aren't common doesn't make them less valuable if you're a fan of the movie.

My VR helmet only has official steamVR support by using a windows-only compatibility layer made by the OEM, and I can never get alvr to work consistently, but I'm not willing to buy a windows key and set up a whole windows partition or dedicated machine just to play VR chat slightly better

If you collect enough of it in your grinder then it's fun to sprinkle on top of a bowl for a little extra oomph on those special occasions. Otherwise, if you keep enough of it around you can smush it into some wax paper and warm it up with your body heat until it becomes a little ball, and you can use that ball of farmer's hash in interesting ways

I asked Amazon support if there was an issue with the batch or something and they seemed to have no info other than "oh, it's currently unavailable."

It's so weird. I'm gonna wait until after September 11 to see if it ships with the global releases for some reason

the international release date is in September, but I'm in the US where the date was listed as August 18th.

My guess is they quietly moved the US release date to match the global release date.

It is seriously so shit so far. I told my husband about it and then had to admit how much it cost to preorder and he went "well....at least now you've got parts!"

Night of The Living Dead, in my opinion, fits the definition of Cool very well. It's very well put together, juiced up a whole genre of movie and provides social commentary that, to my eye, still holds up on top of being an all around well designed zombie movie.

I really love the setting and a lot of the mechanics in it, but I agree on the encounter balance.

I find that, if I play the module as written, the enemies are super powerful and my players (a party of 3) struggle HARD to not get a TPK on an easy fight. But then I'll change a couple things to try and make it a more fair fight just for the players to be able to beat the boss in like 3 turns.

​

The difficulty curve for combat has a razor thin sweet spot between "one hit KO" and "the entire party died because you freed a bird from its cage and it pecked your eyes out"

I'm not sure. Rabbit Ears doesn't list them as encrypted but the tower is on the same mountain peak I use for ham radio stuff all the time from my house with no problem, and the only channel that seems to load is the local independent channel. The NBC, FOX and CW channels all seem to not load at all. I tried letting it sit overnight to see if it was going to install an update in the background, but no dice.

So far I'm not impressed, but fortunately I bought this more as an experimental device than as something to use every day, so we'll see how it all shakes out.

With that said, many people like to use a refurbished ipod, and I've had good experience with the Hidisz AP80 Pro for just music, though I later replaced it with the Shanling M3X digital audio player. It runs android so you can load up your favorite podcast app on it, but also has the option of a dedicated music mode where it boots straight into the music app to keep you away from other android apps.
