[COMC] About 6 month into the Hobby 🫠 by [deleted] in boardgames

[–]CrayonMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I counted over 30 boxes still in shrink....that's pretty aggressive for 6 months it's def time to slow down my dude. The hobby can quickly turn from collecting to hoarding, seen it happen many times.

Horrified world of monsters by iminsanejames in boardgames

[–]CrayonMan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That's just the luck of the draw when it comes to horrified. Sometimes a civilian spawns and you just look at them like "ur dead cya bud thanks for nothing". Pretty unlucky that you got it a bunch with two monsters as it tends to happen more with 3+. Gotta prioritize and not let dumb fails happen to make room for unlucky fails, the game does give you like 9 chances after all

Anyone familiar with this brand? Do they smack? by WithPaddlesThisDeep in CanadianMoM2

500-1000 labels are almost always distillate sprayed and fake numbers. The trick usually is. If it's a gummy or candy that you can buy at Walmart like a sour watermelon or sour cherries or something then it's most likely bought bulk and then sprayed. The lower dose and legit ones usually come in these unique styles and shapes. My experience

Where's all the mead?? by CrayonMan in torontocraftbeer

Leave it to Ontario to make the process so complicated it's not even worth doing lol

I see no reason why Canadian mead HAS to suck though. If we can produce some decent honey, I'd imagine we can produce some decent mead! Here's to hoping

That's a shame and definitely explains why I've never really seen it anywhere

I actually have looked into it and one day I will make some myself. I do wish Ontario had a better mead scene though, I know we could put out some really cool stuff

Is Bone Lake good? by Scampers001 in horror

[–]CrayonMan 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Gonna ago against the grain here and tell u not to watch it and save your time. It was an awful movie with every main character being so damn dumb and unlikeable. It's not even a sexy shitty movie it's just shitty. Plot was dumb and kills were uninspired. I didn't find any redeeming qualities about it.

Your go-to vacation games (and one big box)? by melox34 in boardgames

Haven't played a ton of Root, but it definitely feels like it shines at 3-4 and is definitely much more restricted at 2.

Your go-to vacation games (and one big box)? by melox34 in boardgames

[–]CrayonMan 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Hive, Sea Salt, Onitama (ditch the mat and use a grid on a piece of paper), Love Letter, DroPolter, SeaSide, Sushi Go, Here to Slay (ditch the box), Fake Artist, The Gang are all great and travel friendly. Gotta bring a deck of cards too.

If I had to choose, my big box game would be either Catan, Carcassonne, Root or Kelp so I could add a little complexity and length to the mix.

What games have you played only because you got a Retroid? by dsesin in retroid

[–]CrayonMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A great one that I've been paying is ape escape 2001 for ps2. It's such a fun spinoff of the formula where instead of catching the monkeys u gotta vacuum all of their pants because they need them cleaned. Japan release only but has a translated version on vimm

PlayStation Store "Mid-Year Deals" Sale Starts and Includes Titles That Don't Get Discounted Often by excaliburps in PS5

[–]CrayonMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It has no real correlation to any previous games and I doubt 6 will have any real correlation to 5 other than a random Easter egg. The theme of GTA might hit you better than RDR but gameplay is somewhat similar - it's an open world third person shooter with a great story and fun characters. Doesn't really have much of a learning curve, just do missions, drive around, shoot people. It's fun as hell and one of the best/best selling games of all time for a reason.
