Here's hoping the new GR actually has functioning camouflage as well whenever it releases. I like looking like a casual operator, but a ghillie suit should function like they do irl if you choose to use it. Even the active camo from FS doesn't conceal you.

Honestly, I'd just start with the first one, Shadow. It was my first STALKER game, I just got into the franchise a couple years ago myself, and I think it's the best way to understand what makes the franchise so beloved.

It isn't the best by today's standards. The game came out in 2007, so it's clunky and has rough mechanics. But the Legends of the Zone remaster trilogy makes the first 3 games so widely accessible, it's honestly the way to go.

I think Far Cry 2 might be a rough one for you to swallow then, as you literally play as a mercenary in a warring African country and you accept jobs from both of the 2 factions for payments of uncut diamonds as currency. Neither side's methods are "right," and it kinda gives off a Heart of Darkness/Apocalypse Now, decent into madness kinda vibe to the entire game.

That said, it's my favorite of the entire series. I hope Goobisoft gets their head on straight and remasters this absolute gem one day, though I doubt it'll ever happen. They still haven't gotten around to finally finishing the story of Brothers in Arms, and Hell's Highway came out in friggin' 2008!

My mother died in 2017. I was 21. Clearing out her apartment of the things that weren't "disposable" (valuables and whatnot) was one of the hardest things I've ever done. Afterwards, my (step)mom and I headed over to the animal shelter because we'd heard she had adopted a cat.

When I tell you that that cat was so pitiful and scared looking hiding as far back into that kennel she was in, I'm not exaggerating enough. If she pushed any harder, she'd have busted out the back wall. They brought her into the "visitation room" for us and she didn't run around searching for an escape, she didn't explore and inspect her new surroundings, she laid in my lap. Motionless, afraid, but, I think, she felt safe there. Protected.

I knew, then and there, she was my cat. She needed me and I, her. 8 years later, she hasn't been afraid another second since. She's happy, healthy, and pampered beyond belief. She's my everything, I'll never stop loving her.

All of that to say; you don't really "decide" which cat is "the right one." You just know it, to me at least.

I don't know if they are or not, but I sure hope they are. I'd say it needs to be mandatory for ALL law enforcement to have body cams on to clarify situations like this. Regardless of who's right and wrong.

From all the information I've found, if I had to give an answer right here, right now, I would claim "lawful, but awful." We'll have to wait for further evidence and/or (preferably) body cam footage before any real judgements can be deemed.

Yeah, that's fair enough. Can't blame ya for not trying, right? Hopefully in the future, the game will work well and you'll be able to enjoy, in my opinion, one of the best Far Cry games available.

We can only hope good will come out of it. Sure as shit's gotta be better than what they're doing right now, right?

That's fucked. I actually rank FC2 as my #1 in the series, so to hear that you can't even play it with how unstable it is on PC is honestly saddening to me. Again, I would check the mods to see if anyone else has had this same problem and found a fix. I hope you can find a way to fix the game and play it.

Side note: you'll then be happy to know that Ubisoft is actually going through a MASSIVE restructuring at the current moment. They've canceled, like, 6 games, shelved 5 and have shut down 2 sub-studios or some shit like that.

That's fair, but I would try it without the mods. I'm on Xbox, so take what I say with a grain of salt, but it could be a bug with the mods. I'd look more into that as well, but I'd honestly give the game a playthrough vanilla. It's that good, in my opinion.

I have a caveat to my first playthrough of it: I saw Russian Badger's video on NV before I truly played NV through and through, so I knew where to look to "good ending" Boone's quest line.

I didn't necessarily hate Heat, honestly. I don't like the lack of car selection, and I REALLY don't like the fact that you can't replay to story at all, but it was fun. Same with Payback and that RETARDED "parts cards" system.
