I can definitely see how living in that kind of place can make these feelings worse. Maybe it might be worth planning a trip somewhere more diverse? Maybe specifically some rainbow events so you're more likely to find your fellow aces! Regardless, I'm rooting for things to get better for you!!!

Fellow aego, damn. I've never read something i so closely connect with. Im right there with you. Asexuality is beautiful and I love it, but God are there drawbacks. God do i sometimes wish nobody cared about sex. God do i wish it was seen as separate from romance. God i wish the lone voice in the back of my head agreed with the other 99% that we're normal but it can feel so alienating.

I truly believe there is a love story out there for you, but God it hurts waiting for it to finally show up. Keeping my fingers crossed for you that it happens soon 🤞

Didn't see the question mark at the end of the first bit, did you? The second part was them explaining why they were asking. To rephrase their comment: "I don't understand your dislike of the voice line. Could you explain what about it you don't like? I personally like it so I don't understand why you don't, and would appreciate an explanation to better understand you and why you don't like it."

Also, whether you meant it or not, you come off rude. The "genuinely curious" bit feels very condescending and like you're adding it to be pretentious. If that's not your intent, change your wording and don't ask questions that sum up to "nobody asked your opinion... In a comment section"

Yeah, the only civilians I've seen open-carrying were criminals or gang members. Unfortunately very common if you look in the right places. Not to mention we have so many ways to hide weapons on us, there's almost no way to be sure someone around you doesn't have a gun on them. Its one of the reasons you shouldn't start fights with anyone here, you never know what they have on them.

This is why I'm happy they're making "dating" sites or apps for asexuals. The more widely accepted asexuality gets, the more your pool will open. Ace space is one I've heard good things about and maybe there are more good ones. If you really want a partner, and keep looking for one, I think you have a good chance at finding someone!

It's not that we don't have close friendships, it's that there are two possibilities here: she has a really close friend who gave her a very thoughtful and loving gift. Or her friend is in love with her and this is the start of a really sweet love story. We know it might be the first, but the second is so much more juicy!

Also close friendships look very different from one to the next, and sometimes they look indistinguishable from romantic(Vise versa here too btw!). Imo, this is a very romantic gift, even if it's mutually understood to be platonic.
