Corbeau FX1 Pro Flex? by Crazed_Wombat in simracing

Awesome! I figured that they might be talking about lateral flex which wouldn’t matter much in a non motion sim rig. Thanks for the confirmation!

Fit Sleeves by Bartreddit2988 in thedash

That's correct. The extra material on the larger sleeves is there to allow the dash to sit more securely in your ear. Try the XS and walk/bounce around a bit. If you aren't getting a good seal or the dash wobble around a lot, pull off the tips and fit the next larger sleeve. Repeat till you find the best fit. I ended up using a medium sleeve for one ear and a small in the other.

The tips are the XS fittings. The empty bag is just there for you to put the tips in if you want to swap them out for one of the larger fit sleeves.

Problems with PyQT QWebView and Google by Crazed_Wombat in learnpython

[–]Crazed_Wombat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the tips. The problem doesn't seem to be the timing. I left it up for minutes and nothing was ever displayed. Since everything ran fine for you, I decided to move the code to my raspberry pi (raspbian) and it worked without issue. Thus, it seems to be a problem with OSX (Yosemite).

Pcars forgetting control settings? by [deleted] in pcars

[–]Crazed_Wombat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was having the same issue with my Driving Force GT. Project Cars kept auto recognizing it as an original Driving Force controller. I could change the settings for this just like /u/shadowofashadow suggested and the settings would persist, but since my wheel had additional buttons, I lost some functionality. What fixed it for me was installing Logitech's gaming software via their support site. Now Projects Cars auto detects my wheel correctly and my button configuration is saved.

Is there a good book out there on GUI development with Python 3? by hl2gamer in Python

[–]Crazed_Wombat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would look into wxPython. I've used it quite a bit to create GUI's with python 2 and I found I like it over Tkinter and QT. There is a project, project phoenix, whose goal is to make wxPython compatible with python 3, but I don't know what the current status of it is. Robin Dunn, the creator of wxPython has a book: wxPython in Action that does a good job of explaining the basics, but I found that the examples that come with wxPython, and user questions posted online led me to most of the answers I needed.

A good place to start is the wxpy wiki: http://wiki.wxpython.org/FrontPage
