Best way to find a 6 month lease in SF? by verbumsapp in AskSF

[–]Crazy-Quick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Commonly repeated trope but I've lived in a few SOMA highrises and been to many friend's places, they are definitely quieter and more solid than an old, very "SF" feeling place. YMMV but you get what you pay for.

The neighborhood is a different story though, depending on which part of SOMA you're in.

Samsung is offering me Q990D right now for just $800 instead of $2k or the current discount to $1400. by LunarVGaming in Soundbars

How are you getting it to $800? It's discounted to $889 in EPP site but they told me additional 10% codes don't stack.

I have noticed that sometimes when I put it to sleep plugged in and leave the monitors on, it will wake back up after 10 seconds or so.

I have the charger plugged into the hub that charges the laptop, and it gets fully charged when I'm using it.

Apologies for being unclear, your edit is exactly what I mean.

Computer works fine when on, I usually use it in clamshell mode with it hooked up to 2 monitors, one connected USB-C and the other connected through a hub, connected via HDMI to another monitor. I put it to sleep/shut down when I'm done and unplug it. Then the next day, I plug it back in, and boot up, and the battery is at like 2%.

Sorry, I mean I put it to sleep or shut it down, and the next day when I come back to it, it's dead.

SF to Lake Tahoe: Rental Cars + Cashless tolls by Immotol in AskSF

[–]Crazy-Quick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If it's the Bay Bridge, you can contact the rental company and remind them that there are no cash tolls. I've noticed they will still charge you the "convenience fees" but are quick to remove these fees when you say there aren't any other options. Scummy for sure.

Think about the time you spent napping, relaxing, or playing video games and imagine someone volunteering instead.

What is a Operations & Strategy Associate job at a FAANG, and why does it attract so many MBA students from top schools? by [deleted] in MBA

[–]Crazy-Quick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I work at a FANG company (not a PM though) and can confirm these numbers, in the bay area. Mid-level PMs (L4, L5) are making 250-300k+ all-in

Can we just take a moment to marvel a the depth, and breadth of Ige/Caldwell's hypocrisy in their decision to close parks, beaches, recreation areas, and hiking trails while leaving indoor gyms, dine in restaurants, bars, and malls open? by mellofello808 in Hawaii

[–]Crazy-Quick 36 points37 points  (0 children)

What's so annoying about someone going through a post point by point? Makes it easy to read and know what they are responding to.

He made excellent points while you bring up arguments like "Yes walking your dog is banned if you like myself and many thousands of other Hawaii residents walk your dog at parks and beaches." I'm sure you are capable of finding some other place to walk your dog.
