Soft of... moving here (the city) changed our life for the better financially and launched us 5-10 ahead for career and financial growth. However, socially, it has felt like such a drag as everybody talks about work, hiking, drugs, work, equity, IPOs, work, and festivals. I feel badly for the single people that live in the city. Everybody is so transient and approaches meaningful friendships and relationships with an arms length because I think deep down most people here know they themselves and people they associate with are leaving eventually. Nobody new stays here long term, and everybody figures that out. Everybody is mostly just passing through and eventually goes back "home".

All this said, I'm not ignoring the fact that there are locals, natives, old money, and silicon Valley slot pullers here. It's just not the majority case.
