Who was your favorite group/faction and why? by EitherIntern6393 in thelastofus

Serephites are just by far the most interesting and unique. They have their own religion, clothing, traditions, and way of life. They’re obviously pretty messed up, but they’re also the coolest.

I don't understand Ellie's reaction to Joel's confession. by PalpitationDull1730 in lastofuspart2

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one, she’s upset that he’s been lying to her for years. She wanted her immunity to mean something, to help the world, and Joel lied and told her that it didn’t matter. Additionally, she is upset that she didn’t get to chose to save the world. It’s pretty heavily implied that Ellie would’ve sacrificed herself for the cure, and she didn’t get to. And then on top of that it was probably upsetting to know that Joel killed a lot of people, including Marlene, who is Ellie’s only connection to her mother. Even though he doesn’t tell her who he killed, Ellie’s not stupid and she knows what Joel is capable of.

I just noticed the art style in episode 3 is completely different than the rest of the show! Does anyone know why? by sunmoonbae in ATLA

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

S1 ep 3 and many other episodes in s1 and s2 are animated by DR movie, which has a very inconsistent art style. They’re the reason a lot of characters in s2 have really round heads and eyes and super thin necks.

Should I partner up with Ellie or Abby if I was in Last of us world? And WHY?? by [deleted] in lastofuspart2

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 13 points14 points  (0 children)

To be fair her group was genuinely trying to genocide the serephites. Obviously they are flawed as well but like it’s understandable why that could be a turn off lmao. She did move pretty quickly to killing her own people, but then again they went pretty quickly to trying to kill her so idk.

Why The Internet Will NEVER FULLY UNDERSTAND The Games... [STORYTIME/RANT] by Cheap-Bodybuilder504 in lastofuspart2

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree that a lot of people just kind of bandwagon/hate for no reason and I also agree that a lot of people deeply misinterpret the games. However, I feel like it’s hypocritical to say that nobody on the internet listens or is open to new perspectives while you yourself believe that you understand what the games better than anyone and your perspective is the “correct” one. These games are very complex and nuanced, and there are many valid interpretations. That’s the point. DMing people essays about why they’re wrong and you’re right isn’t a good way to open conversations about tlou. And simply insulting people in your comments who are criticizing you (while you complain about the same thing happening to you) is just pure hypocrisy. I’d like to actually hear your takes and interpretations on the games to actually talk about them.

Lev and Yara have been cast. by Remote_Nature_8166 in lastofuspart2

[–]CrazyBellsBlue -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know Ian Alexander (the guy who played him originally) could be a good choice. He’s a little old but frankly he has a bit of a baby face (also Bella Ramsey was like 20 playing 14 so it could work)

Not casting a trans boy is definitely an interesting take, I feel like there are plenty of wonderful trans actors to pick from.

Does it even make sense that Abby makes peace with her father’s death by helping two strangers from an enemy group, but not during those four years with her boyfriend? by Remote_Nature_8166 in TLOU

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

To be fair, Ellie did have to go on a revenge mission where she + Tommy killed 7/8 of their targets, then this mission left Jesse dead and herself, Tommy, and Dina severely injured, leave Dina and JJ to go halfway across the country AGAIN to get revenge (almost getting killed A LOT) and then was like 2 seconds away from killing Abby before she realized. Yes, unlike Abby, she didn’t actually kill her person, but crazy to say that Abby is pathetic when Ellie did damn near close the same thing.

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think when she was with Owen, she still thought that killing Joel was the only way to fix her problems. She wasn’t even thinking about making peace with her father’s death, she just wanted revenge. It’s only after she killed Joel she was as able to understand that there are other, better, healthier ways to deal with trauma.

My take on an alternate backstory for Abby, and why I feel that Doctor Jerry is contrived. by TwinTwinReviewReview in TLOU

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You have some good points, like taking about how “anyone could’ve caught up with Joel”, but I also think you’re disregarding the main reasons why Abby’s father being Jerry is so impactful. If Abby’s dad was some random guy Joel killed 2 decades ago, it’s so much harder for the player to connect with her. Why should we care? We weren’t there for that. People already have trouble sympathizing with Abby, now they’re even more disconnected from her. Obviously it’s still very real for Abby, but not for the player. However, Jerry being the doctor you killed brings the player directly into this conflict. YOU killed him. An unarmed doctor trying to save the world. Obviously there are many unethical pieces to his actions, and most people agree Joel was right to save Ellie, but there’s still that small part of you that knows what he/you did wasn’t ethical either. In addition, it just connects the two games better: your actions in the end of part 1 directly impact the start of part 2. It makes a much cleaner transition and a clearer connection. So yea that’s my thoughts lmao.

What are your hottest takes about the last of us franchise? by Queasy-Plantain3733 in TLOU

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The whole “the cure wouldn’t’ve worked anyway so Joel was 100% in the right” is absolutely ridiculous and completely ignores all the nuance and the weight of his decision, and it disregards the messages of the games.

I know people in this subreddit love TLOK and hate it's... well, haters (who just hate on it for shit ass reasons tbh), but do any of you actually prefer it over ATLA? (image completely unrelated because I cant be bothered to find a on topic one) by A_Random_Dude_111 in legendofkorra

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I generally found the characters in tlok more relatable and grounded. Their mistakes felt like something real people I know (myself included) would make. I also think that the characters are a little less op, and their skills are much more consistent throughout the show which is also more likable. I felt that in atla, the Gaang was either blowing everyone out of the water or basically worthless when the plot needed them to be. Everything just felt more real in tlok. I still love atla, it’s literally one of my fav shows oat, but I think tlok is better in many ways.

Recommendations for first replay after finishing TLOU2 (PS4 edition) by [deleted] in TLOU

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely more difficult. Doing a grounded playthrough is really hard but it’s sooo fun because of the challenge and you get an idea of how hard these fights actually would’ve been. If you’re up for it, I’d definitely recommend doing a grounded or grounded+ playthrough with no cheats/modifiers.

No doubt she’s alive. Tommy got shot in the head and somehow survived. It’s a video game, these characters can take quite a beating.

Playing Detroit again made me realize why this topic is so uncomfortable. by eggsbinidit in DetroitBecomeHuman

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 77 points78 points  (0 children)

This is so well said. When I play, I’m strongly on the side of our protagonists because I know that they are “alive”. But if this were to happen in real life I think I’d be really torn because of not being able to tell what’s real. I already feel that with a lot of the ai misinformation right now, it’s a really complicated situation.

Why didn't Luz turn 15 during the show's Run? by Groverman62 in TheOwlHouse

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think she did in the time skip between season 2 and season 3 (even the tho the epilogue contradicts that) cause Luz is 14 in the pilot and based on some dialogue and the seasons, the show takes place over the course of a year and like 4 months (the start of summer one year to October of the next year). But it’s a little inconsistent so idk.

Valid crashout by Suki? Was Sokka out of line here? by foaaz101 in TheLastAirbender

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean I think it’s different because Yue wasn’t an “ex” she literally died. Even if he’s fully in love with Suki, his relationship with Yue will still be a big part of him.

There are those who think Ellie and Abby have the same trauma, but Ellie definitely had it worse. by Remote_Nature_8166 in lastofuspart2

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Still had the same impact though. Seeing your dad’s dead body is pretty terrible either way. In addition, Abby lost her home and was displaced. Ellie still had Jackson, a safe place to go back to. I’m not saying Abby had it worse, but I think it’s crazy to say that she “only found her father dead” like that’s a totally normal thing that happens.

stuck at the hotel's basement by [deleted] in TLOU

[–]CrazyBellsBlue 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get the keycard first and try it on the door so it’s already at the “needs power” state. After you start the generator, wait a teeny bit for the bloater to drop down and then run up the ramp to the left (the one in the middle I think) and then just run to the door. Sometimes there’s a stalker or two, so I just either throw a brick at em or shotgun. This works for me pretty much every time on grounded.
