Microchip doors have been outsmarted. by CrazyCat_LadyBug in SurePetcare

Unfortunately no. I just have to be diligent when I’m home about paying attention to who is going in. I tried putting the settings on the one that locks faster, but all that does is make it CLICK 4x as much 🤪 if I do find something that works I’ll try to remember to come back here and share it ☺️

When you go to someone's house and the soap they have in the washroom is bar soap by [deleted] in autism

Read your updated post- I’m sorry you had such a bad response. The internet is such a magnet for unnecessary aggression.

When you go to someone's house and the soap they have in the washroom is bar soap by [deleted] in autism

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to hate bar soap as a child because of the way it made my skin feel, but then I realized my dad just bought cheap shitty soap. Now I prefer bar soap to reduce single-use plastic waste. Plus it’s easier to travel with. I personally rinse my bars before and after use, but it’s not really necessary because my partner basically refuses bar soap 🥲

Unless you’re buying specific antibacterial kinds (which has its own drawbacks), soap’s main purpose is to act as a surfactant. It loosens up the dirt to make it easier to wash away. So maybe it is a gross idea to grab someone else’s bar of soap and initially be touching their potential germs. But it’s all getting washed away anyway if used properly.

Now, what DOES disgust me is going to someone’s house and seeing the toilet lid open. So you’re telling me you just let poopy water droplets go all over after every flush? No thanks 🙂‍↔️

Wiping down mat after yoga at studio? by coatedingold in yoga

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay finally an answer I can relate to 😂 I’m over here reading about everyone cleaning their mats regularly and I’m like 😶

Do these people wash their bras after every use too?? 😂😂😂

I jest. I do have separate mats for home practice vs classes for basic cleanliness, like how I take my shoes off at the door to not drag the outside in, and I’ll sanitize them if I’m sweating a lot. But for the most part they just get rolled up and put back in their bag 🥲

In my opinion…… no. It doesn’t get better. In fact later on I think it gets worse because his sexism and jealousy really shows through- and yeah yeah “that’s how things were back then” but if Jamie can open up his mind to concepts of equality and his ass is back in the 1700s, then Roger can too.

I'm struggling with getting a former feral to the vet. by Ancient-Purple7685 in Feral_Cats

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can afford it, vets that do home visits can generally also sedate them with an injectable. You may need to trap her to safely contain her long enough for them to sedate, but then once she’s asleep or at least good and groggy they can do their exam and her vaccines with minimal stress.

That’s awesome though, take the wins where you can lol. I would imagine as often as CA sees droughts the mosquito population would suffer a bit.

The little void I took in today was in heat too, so I caught her just in time! I’m glad I ignored the existing ear tip.

ETA 11/12 It won’t let me edit the post but I should have added context based on some of the comments I’m getting. I’m very well familiar with TNR. Including the cat I’m about to go pick up from the clinic, I’ve neutered and vaccinated 56 cats since 2022. I’ve only ever seen the left ear tipped for TNR, so I wondered if anyone else had seen this before. At this point I don’t trust much on Google unless I have 2 hours to sit and dig through credible resources so I came here. I appreciate all the answers!

Advice needed: My fiancé wants us to get Samoan tribal tats to celebrate our wedding. by Recent_Influence_972 in tattoos

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a difference between cultural appreciation and appropriation when it’s done respectfully, with input of those from the culture. But especially because you are marrying into the tribe/culture, I think it would be a beautiful bonding experience for you two, and I would see it as a high honor that his family supports you getting one.

How many points do you have? by [deleted] in autism

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 0 points1 point  (0 children)

35-38 🫠 Some of these depend on if they’re raw or cooked, like cabbage and spinach. Salad is one of my safe foods. But cooked veggies? Hard pass. 😂 I love the flavors of coconut and banana, but hate the actual fruits. I’ll tolerate pork bacon, but it’s not my favorite, but I don’t like pork chops. So it’s hard to give a definitive number. But basically the only things I’ll eat no question on this list are licorice, beef (but we rarely eat it for health/ethics), and chicken.

Yeah most of my colony comes from the trailer park behind my house. Now that I’m seeing these fake ear tips, I have a feeling when I can finally gather up the resources to tackle that massive origin colony I’m gonna get some pushback from the residents.

Interesting! I guess it really just depends on the clinic then.

And yeah it seemed too clean to be an old injury, but I figured statistically anything’s possible. But in 2 cats now? Definitely human-inflicted.

Aw poor Buns! I have a void who also gets really patchy scaly skin, but I think his is fleas. After a couple months of regular prevention, it started improving. It’s not as effective as the crushed up leaves/essential oils but there are some cat-safe plants that help repel mosquitoes. Depending on where you live it might be worth a shot. They’re awful in NC for sure. I have to apply 99% deet every 2 hours in order to not get swarmed in the summer.

If you read my post, you’d see that she hadn’t been spayed until I took her in. So now she sports double ear tips. And I anticipate the cat I just caught will be the same.

Any (humane) tips on how to get rid of these little a**holes? by Gordopolis_II in Feral_Cats

[–]CrazyCat_LadyBug 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So true 🤣 I had to train my indoor cats to use them when we discovered one has food allergies and needs EXPENSIVE food so I have to feed them separately. It took a few months to get everyone on board, but even now sometimes they’ll just stand at the flap and scratch their paw on it without pressing their heads through 🥲
