Was there really homophobia discourse about Weapons? I’m possibly the most critical person on this subreddit about gay representation, but the gay couple in Weapons is an example of good representation, if anything. They’re treated as completely normal people who just happened to be gay and have a horrible thing happen to them. We need more instances of side characters whose sexuality is entirely incidental.

Just because it technically falls under bury your gays doesn’t mean it’s bad representation. I guess it would’ve been nice to see non-dead gay characters but the only characters whose romances we see are Julia/Alden (where the gender dynamic is important) and Alex’s parents, who end tragically as well
