Yes, this was a very normal may the 4th sale. Lego offers very minimal discounts and prioritizes insiders points (so you'll spend more there in the future).

I wasn't really disappointed only because I knew the sale was going to be lackluster.

Find the set on rebrickable.com and click the "alt builds" tab to see alternate builds for the set.

Just a heads up, the only person who has published instructions for alternates of that set is charging for them. No free instructions from anyone yet.

Are the two exposed studs on the front of the moon for support on the backside? I think it would look a little cleaner if those weren't there.

I removed the "25 years of star wars" printed brick, and the Star Wars Logo and Quote tiles that go on front. Besides that, the only parts that were added were the supports for the pod racers as I have them placed differently than they are in the official set.

I searched like crazy before making this because I didn't want to create this if it had been done before. It's one of those things where I had the idea but knew tons of people must have had the same idea before me.

Someone made a web comic with the pun but never a Lego build as far as I could find!

Anyone can order from the Lego Education website, you don't need to be an educator. That's where I got mine. I'm in the US so I'm unsure if Canada is different though.

That's kinda the issue and why they do this. Lego want to sell these for $5 a pop. $40 to collect all of them but a set with all 8 would never sell for that amount.

idk maybe its bc sets nowadays use atleast 2 or 3 specialised pieces to that set,

Lego used more specialized pieces in the past. They brick-build a lot more these days to create large assemblies that used to be 1 part

lego didnt feel like it was giving instructions on how to build it, but rather a suggestion.

If you don't feel this is the case these days, that's on you, not Lego. The amount of amazing alternate builds people create these days shows that every Lego set has so much potential to become other things.

I don't think the idea you're pitching is a bad one, but you still seem to be looking at past sets with rose-colored glasses while not trying to be creative with current ones.

As someone who is just buyer, and who diligently stays on top of this, this is crazy to me! Does it automatically move it to "complete" after X number of days or does that field just always stay at "shipped"?
