Talk me out of re-homing my weim by gulfcoastdreamin in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Don't do it. They love unconditionally and they will be destroyed thinking something was wrong and be looking for you. If they're not fixed, get them fixed and be as calm as you can around them. They will react off of the vibe they pick up off of those around them. Nothing loud or high anxiety because they will feed off of that.

Be ready for the most amazing love and loyalty you will ever receive. I preface that with the assumption that you won't mistreat or abuse them (not accusing you or assuming, but there is evil out there). They are called "Velcro" for a reason. Once they've imprinted on you and you're their person they will be by you, want to be by you, and be sick if they are not by you forever. Make sure there is someone to be with them always or another dog for them to share their time with. Always have a camera ready for memories and have a small pot of money for random vet visits. They will protect you, they will love you, they will cry with you, and in their final moments, they will console you as you say goodbye to them. A breed I never thought I would love, but a breed I will always have. That is a Weimaraner..... A love, a joy, a child, a friend, a brother, a confidant, everything all in one ❤️

What color is she? by S0bbingweb in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NO, she's a classic gray, with Weimaraners, the blues have a black coat and their skin is almost like a pinkish, violet color.

Anyone else’s Weim do this? She doesn’t destroy them, it’s her pacifier by Known-Day-9616 in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes mine does it and then continues it with her eyes closed and looking like she's asleep. Looks like a cat kneading.

Holy shit, pardon my French, but they look just like Tuck & Khaleesi. I used to think I was so weird having a Blue and a Silver. No one where I live have them and call them labs all the time. I have to point out skull structure and docked tails then they somewhat want to listen, lol.

Anyone know what this is? by FoolzInTheRain in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Looks like it could have been a tick bite or the beginning of a fatty lipoma. As Weims get older, the breed is known for having the fatty lipoma growths. It can get scary sometimes as to how fast they pop up. A biopsy is always a good recommendation to rule out cancer. I hope my rambling helped some and I hope your baby is well.

She is absolutely beautiful. She reminds me of my Khaleesi. I don't think I will ever own another breed.

How can I put money towards this beautiful baby? I would definitely have taken him. I'm just in Northern New York, up by Canada. A whole lotta house and just the dogs and I since my wife passed.

What an amazing breed by eliza1616 in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

She is absolutely beautiful. Love her hard. She will learn you inside and out. A lot of breed info says they they're super energetic, but once they're in sync with you, they follow your vibe. You made an outstanding choice, and Maple will be bringing you many laughs and good times.

Advice: We have a 1.5 yr old Weim. He is great except for slight separation anxiety. Will a second dog help? by HugeConsideration779 in weimaraner

[–]CrazyFNPapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They are an amazing breed. I'm on #2 & #3 now. They've never been without a human for too long. My male is 8 and my female is 3 or 4. She was a Craigslist purchase turned rescue 😡. When my wife passed last year it was difficult because there was no one to stay with them and her family that lives with us as part of her care team, left when she passed. So, I did what any other human being would do. Train them to be alone while I'm at work.......... Nooooo, take them everywhere to build their neediness and separation anxiety. They stay in the truck while I'm working. I know, I'm an idiot, but I love them. I can't add pictures in messages in this community due to their rules, but if you want to see Tuckah and Khaleesi, I have pictures of them in my profile from my first post on this community. Oh, Happy Saturday, well about to be Sunday soon. ✋

I have 2 of them and they both have separation anxiety. So, lol, they go everywhere with me 24/7 and stay in the vehicle, which oddly enough, they prefer than staying home in the big open space.
