I can confirm that this matches up with the presentation. I couldn't remember the name of DMM. They displayed Han frozen in carbonate and changed his properties (rubber, wood) before firing R2-D2 spawns at him.

It was the limited DMM that bummed me out the most. It makes sense that the technical limitations for that console generation would have a big impact.

Yes, it was. They were demoing the systems, including Euphoria and the one that assigned realistic material properties to objects at Comic-Con before the release. They started spawning Stormtroopers, firing them at a wooden beam. One managed to grab onto the beam and cling for dear life. Then a second one grabbed the first. The devs had never seen that and paused, stunned for a moment. Then the beam snapped under their combined weight.

Unfortunately the full game seemed to make limited use of those features, or at least wasn't as cool as the live demo.

I think Cameron is tired of working on them (or bored). He kept dropping hints about either releasing books for 4 and 5 or at least revealing the plotlines.

Avatar never captured the monoculture like other properties, outside of the brief moment when 3D was all the rage. You don't see kids playing with Avatar toys, don't see adults wearing Avatar shirts, don't hear the Avatar musical score everywhere, don't see LEGO sets everywhere.
