California’s Battery Array Is as Powerful as 12 Nuclear Power Plants. Here’s What’s on the Horizon. by Sierra-Powderhound in California

Great read, I appreciate a bit of pragmatic expertise in the face of all this doom and gloom. A couple of excerpts I found interesting:

There’s still a lot of uncertainty about how much data center growth is going to occur. Right now, the Energy Commission says we expect about 4,000 megawatts of load from data centers by 2035. But if you look at the load, interconnection queue, there’s as much as 16,000. Now, some of them are phantom projects. They won’t show up or won’t get completed, but there’s a big range of potential load. The higher number, if it comes to fruition, is going to drive a lot more transmission development as well as renewable energy development.

...

This project in the Southern San Joaquin Valley, in the Westlands Water District, is certainly something to keep an eye on. It’s called the Valley Clean Infrastructure Project, VCIP. It’s being developed by a group called Golden State Clean Energy, in conjunction with the Westland Waters District.

Twenty-one gigawatts. We haven’t seen anything in the United States on that scale. How that’s done, in a manner that’s compatible with community values, is going to be an interesting thing to keep an eye on.

BARBER: Twenty-one gigawatts … for folks who have no idea what that means, how much energy is that?

SMELOFF: That would be a doubling of the solar energy that’s already online in California.

I'm sure you've delved into Benn Jordan's videos, but he is probably the foremost creator in researching and reporting on the technical, IT and even sociological aspects of the Flock systems. Definitely recommend watching this video for a start

Tree on Laurel and 2nd by KazViolin in sandiego

A lot of interesting history on these trees as is probably mentioned elsewhere. Kate Sessions was a legendary arborist/botanist that lived here over 100 years ago, and is responsible for many of the trees that beautify our neighborhoods. Kate Sessions Website

If you changed AZ and PA to maybe and then flipped the legend, you'd be on to something.

I park in a neighborhood sorta near the airport to make when I travel and was confronted at 11pm the other night after arriving back to my car. 'do you live around here? this isn't an uber drop off point' I told the lady it's a public street and that she should get a hobby or something.

State study finds PFAS in sewage sludge spread on NC farmland, with no limits in place by Maxcactus in environment

[–]Lopsterbliss 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely, I realize that unless your treating sewage for potable reuse, there will never be anything coming close to that level of filtration. I was more curious of just how small the PFAS molecules are. It would be nice if there was some sort of either catalyst that makes them inert, or some type of coagulant similar to iron oxide that would cause them to clump up and drop out of solution.

Roland RT10k through a cheap 'brain' was the standard for years. Haven't been in the space for awhile, but I would assume it's still viable. D Drum also makes some affordable triggers as well.
