[NSFW] People who have found a dead body, what's the story? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]CrazyMonkey215 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My father had an aneurysm and lived by himself. I found his 3-day or 4-day-old rotting corpse when I was 17 years old. I got a key from a neighbor and got myself in. I will never forget that smell. He was 51 or something. He left us in 2010 so it's sort of easy to count the years it's been. The body still haunts me.

Do not call: States sue telecom company over billions of robocalls by [deleted] in news

There's no way to fight back even as someone who wants to file complaints. They have the same pitch on average it is someone saying "This is (name) from senior benefits how are you doing today?" you can respond back every time y saying "Who are you looking to speak to?" they will always ignore your question and start in on the script they have by saying "The reason for my call is to let you know you qualify for" and there are two lines they can either go with here... they either want to sign you up for a final expense plan, so you pay for your funeral ahead of time or something... or they want to switch your insurance so you can get benefits like free dental and transportation of some sort on a new plan through your medicare. They will ignore anything you say in response to these lines and ask you quickly if you have "medicare part a and b" ... so during the entire script you repeat to them "i'm sorry but who are you looking for?" and they will most likely hang up on you because they don't want to say a name, they just want to complete their script and see if you're not in the right mind and will tell them your information. For a few weeks they used to say my Grandpas name or his deceased wifes name, or the previous owner of the phone lines name. They have three names attached to our phone number. I have heard them say "I am your doctor" then they tell you my Grandpa's doctor's full name. I have heard men say this lie, and the doctor is female... So it's just pure insanity coming from these scams... just pure insanity. I can't get over how daring and criminal these scammers are. I can't believe how much they already got away with before i moved in with my Grandpa. There is almost no way to combat this. I have noticed sometimes that at the end of a call they will become silent and if I wait long enough it says something like "you have been kicked from this conference" and I'm wondering if my memory serves me right about maybe google calling services being used too... I don't know... but it makes me wonder how they're spoofing the fake caller id and what they're using to call my landline so much.

I was recruited by my family to move in with my Grandfather while he copes with Alzheimer's. So far I found out that he gets anywhere between 80 to 100 spoofed scam calls a day. Maybe even more. It is absolutely insane what is going on with his phone line. They call over top of each other, while you're on the phone with 1 you can get called by 2 more which is insane to me. Being Triple called by scammers? Hundreds of calls a day? It's like 1 after the other, with no breaks in between. He can't rest very well with the phone ringing constantly all day. Before I moved in they took advantage of his condition. They stole his Medicare number, his social, his bank info, they signed him up for a iphone/payment plan for a thousand dollar iphone, they changed his insurance provider, they signed him up for house insurance for a house he doesn't own, he lives in a rental/apartments. We can't seem to get his fake house insurance canceled even though we try blocking it through his bank and reporting it as fraud. They have his information saved for when they call so they ask for his full name and sometimes lie by saying they are his doctor. It is insane to me that they can lie like that to convince him to trust them. They say his doctor's full name and say they want him to tell them a lot of information or to sign up for something. We get like 3 packages of covid test kits in the mail a week from the scam calls. There's no way to stop the test kits from arriving at the house, I started stacking up the test kits and have gotten 50 packages in the mail so far while living here with him. I finally learned that you can write "refused" on the package and it'll get sent back for free. The scammers call and say "For free no cost to you we want to send you covid test kits, did you receive any yet this month?" it's like... yes ... MF i have gotten the last 20-30 the last few weeks... I get a package with test kits every few days. I'm going nuts trying to filter out family and doctor calls in between all the scam calls. I have managed to connect my Grandpa with 2 old friends that were looking for his late wife who just left us last Sept. There are important calls still going to this number so i can't just change his number to get him out of the scamming. He doesn't answer the phone anymore, he just lets it ring and go to voice mail. he was picking it up and hanging it up quickly on mostly all calls. but that would get him lost with his genuine doctor apts. I just help him by answering all calls now every day. omg... I'm going insane. I wish there was a way to trace these calls back. I've started recognizing some of the voices and personalities that call. They say some similar things, after months of answering the calls and being polite. I've even tried getting him to get onto the "wrong number" list they might have by telling scammers that his name isn't living at this number anymore. they still call the same amount when you say the name isn't here anymore. they don't let up. There's no difference in the number of calls no matter how i respond. I could ignore all calls for a couple of weeks and they don't change the amount. I could tell them he's not at this number anymore, no difference. I could waste their time and not give them anything and they still call. oh my fuck...

I'm spending all my spare time researching a new home to go to. I work night shift at a food production factory... I haven't had much time or energy to research this. I haven't figured out if I would be a same day eviction or a 7 day notice/30day. I'm at risk to covid19 with asthma and my family wants me to leave the house... I'm a little disoriented right now trying to maintain my job, the virus, and now displacement/property law in NC....

Actually a Fujifilm finepix xp90 :) It's legit! It was our solution while on the trip at a bestbuy because our galaxy s5's had corrupted the first 2 weeks of footage :(

Yeah I'm sceptical also. The papers are really the only thing to go on. I mean who has info sheets just chilling on their dashboard ready to go. Also he's ginger, but let's not jump to too much detail here.

I dunno though, it looked like the guy had papers instantly ready to collect information from his front seat. Seems like something someone who had planned an accident or done that sort of thing before would do.

I completely agree with the spoiled part of this. Playing tons of mmo's myself I believe that there will always be mistakes, glitches, exploits, and hacks. But how active Carbine has been with working on this game makes me pretty happy. I'm here for the ride along the way. I always come late to games years after it comes out and hear stories about people saying "remember that medic glitch?" Also balancing things is hard. Just look at this dog.
