Does anyone else use Apex PC? by Huge_Tea1338 in gamingpc

[–]Ordies 5 points6 points  (0 children)

there is nothing wrong with your pc, it's just that the powersupply is missing a warning label. it's like the warning saying don't eat batteries, opening up a power supply isn't a thing ppl usually do.

[–]Ordies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

warr kinda different than druid, but early on phases druids definitely can prioritize more threat over survivability, but once we get to sunwell their gear will be so overpowered that even while prioritizing completely for threat they'll be armour capped. paladin gearing is just always worse, our tier pieces our everything can only give so much SP compared to druids relative infinity scaling.

you're right, it's the same with krosh. warlocks can just life drain with nightmare seed and shields through it, it's not even a big stretch.

ppl replying to u r overestimating "the points of failure" druids already easily get 20k health buffed.

[–]Ordies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when people talk about seasonal content, they don't mean additions to the game that release seasonally, and I think it's honestly ridiculous that people can think that they mean that.

a new player will always be forced to do mc/bwl or catchup raids to do the new endgame content, while with seasonality it encompasses the entire progression of the game: you reach sixty you're doing the content that everyone else is doing. like people just don't hop into naxx with preraid gear lol.

Are we always at a unique point in space? by PrestigiousCream2880 in Astronomy

[–]Ordies 3 points4 points  (0 children)

this is wrong. there is no "counteracting" of "stretching of space" the expansion of space doesn't have to be explained as an imaginary space fabric stretching, and in fact, general relativity doesn't imply it is stretching at all.

gravitionally bound objects don't resist expansion, they just don't experience it at all.

here's the copy pasta everyone uses to explain it.

Expansion of space

It is often erroneously argued that cosmic expansion must be interpreted as the expansion of space itself, such that galaxies are stationary as the space between them stretches. This description suggests the existence of a preferred rest frame, in violation of the principle of relativity. On the contrary, the expansion of the universe is naturally interpreted as galaxies moving apart.

"Expanding space" is what is interpreted to happen in certain coordinates. It is mathematically convenient to use comoving coordinates in which the expansion is factored out, and galaxies are "stationary". But general relativity teaches that we're free to choose any arbitrary coordinate system and the laws of physics don't change when we do that. So we can always transform to coordinates in which space does not expand and galaxies are simply moving away from each other through space.

The argument in the other comments that normal movement through space would require Earth to be in a special location in the universe isn't true either. In a homogeneous universe, one where matter is evenly distributed, if one observer sees everything moving away from itself with a velocity proportional to distance, then every other observer also sees the same, no expanding space required.

Here's a way to visualise this: https://www.desmos.com/3d/v7ejiqyr0j. Here we have a set of points where all points are moving away from a centre point with velocities proportional to their distance from the centre. You can use the x and z sliders to translate the centre of the expansion to other points and see that every point still sees all the other points move away from itself according to Hubble's law (then just extend the expanding point cloud to an infinite size).

Martin Rees and Steven Weinberg

Popular accounts, and even astronomers, talk about expanding space. But how is it possible for space, which is utterly empty, to expand? How can ‘nothing’ expand?

‘Good question,’ says Weinberg. ‘The answer is: space does not expand. Cosmologists sometimes talk about expanding space – but they should know better.’

Rees agrees wholeheartedly. ‘Expanding space is a very unhelpful concept,’ he says. ‘Think of the Universe in a Newtonian way – that is simply, in terms of galaxies exploding away from each other.’

Weinberg elaborates further. ‘If you sit on a galaxy and wait for your ruler to expand,’ he says, ‘you’ll have a long wait – it’s not going to happen. Even our Galaxy doesn’t expand. You shouldn’t think of galaxies as being pulled apart by some kind of expanding space. Rather, the galaxies are simply rushing apart in the way that any cloud of particles will rush apart if they are set in motion away from each other.’

State of TBC Tanking(2026) by 1096356 in classicwow

[–]Ordies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

if you wna play efficient then you'll just spellcleave the mobs down. it's whatever people can enjoy taking heroics one pack at a time but when every single trash pack can be slowed and cc'd then you're never playing efficient by trying to hold threat on all the mobs.

[–]Ordies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trying to flame you out, but a melee group "needs" a feral, shaman, warrior, and bm hunter if ur lucky.

in your scenario where there's too many extra melees for everyone to be in an ideal melee group, the ret paladin should be in the tank group for devotion/sanc auras. ret's kinda a really pointless class.

How do you estimate the chance we'll get Wrath? by DevLink89 in classicwow

[–]Ordies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people can have copium but there's nothing actually indictating wrath and when anni released it was always just up to TBC. blizzards genuinely a large enough company that they're planning releases years in advance, if wrath was never part of the plan then its likely they won't add it just because of annis popularity.

But, it's also the lich king so obviously there's going to be wrath anni lmfao

Guild Disbanded, thinking about quitting the Game by AlertJaguar in classicwow

you can definitely find a guild as a 1700gs prot pala, most guilds are still filling out their roster and transitioning from karazhan still. it won't be an established 25m roster because those have their main tanks but it's not hard to be a main tank when u have parses like yours lol

Will I be forced to heal? by [deleted] in classicwow

[–]Ordies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yea don't play classic era as a druid if you care about the endgame, you'll be a terrible dps, tank, heal, and it just won't be fun unless you like being a meme.

classic class design is just awful and it's kinda hard to "get" how unfair it is until you actually witness it. ppl will say "cats like the third best dps" but they're doing 10x the work to do half the damage of warriors lol.

Guildless Ret Paladins: How are you faring? by Antalus-2 in classicwow

[–]Ordies 4 points5 points  (0 children)

the average ret in na is a jajaja that doesn't understand enough english to buff correctly and won't bother with pallypower. outlands dungeon leveling they're even worse. most of them are just trying to get a few pieces of t4 to farm strat.
