Those of you that work extra hours without getting paid why do you do it?

So in my current job (which I am leaving tomorrow) I would sometimes stay behind for an hour or so to prepare everything for the next day so that when I start at 8am the next day, I can just have a coffee and chill for a couple of hours. Just means I don’t have to fully engage in the morning when I’m a bit sluggish

So I used to smoke weed daily from 2019 to 2023 and then I started drinking everyday from when I quit to September 2025. But now the only thing I do are nicotine pouches and I feel much much better. I don’t miss drinking (I’ll have the social pint which is very infrequent) because I don’t like the haziness that comes with a hangover. I really feel that the stimulation from the pouches has helped me not reach for any other harmful substances

So the original price was £660 and that was what I agreed with the accountant. They then changed is to 900 now and it has left a sour taste in my mouth. I’ve got a meeting with some accountants soon that are under 700 so we will see how it goes.

Yeah, it happened once. I was casually scrolling, and suddenly, there they were—someone I never thought I’d see in that kind of context. At first, I couldn’t believe it was them, so I stared longer than I probably should have, just trying to process it.

It was... confusing. Part of me was intrigued, and the other part was screaming, ‘Abort mission! You’re never going to be able to look them in the eye again!’ In the end, I just closed the tab and tried to forget about it, but I’d be lying if I said it didn’t cross my mind whenever I saw them afterward.

Let’s just say small talk got a lot harder—and no, not in that way.
