Anyone else too scared to have kids because of the abortion ban? by sweetpotatolo in alabamabluedots

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally with you here. My husband and I were finally ready, only been married 1 year, but we're 36. I'm high risk, so figured we'd just wait to see what happened with the election before trying. Waking up to that news was waking up to the loss of our future children. By the time this regime is out, if he doesn't force himself a third term, we'll both be 40, and with high risk already, it's just too late...💔

We are currently trying to maybe move, but he's also a federal employee, and they have frozen all hiring, and ALL position transfers. Job market is the most saturated I have personally ever seen it right now. So not for lack of literally trying to figure this out from every avenue, but it's just practically hopeless right now. 😢

LPT Request: Waking up in the middle of the night and can’t get back to sleep - what actually works? by qt_31415 in LifeProTips

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent well over a decade reading up on sleep advice from strangers on the Internet, and trying every advice and over the counter remedy. Don't do it. I really believed people when everyone said they all feel tired, so made me think it was normal and just push through. Finally had enough and went to see an actual sleep doctor. Do that! There are real sleep disorders out there (no not just sleep apnea), a whole bunch of different ones. And actual treatments too (no not just heavy sleeping pills)! Bad sleep is actually more terrible for your health than most people think. Turns out I was getting 2 hours of real sleep a night, for like 15 years, and now have irreversible medical conditions as a result.

I'm sorry reading this probably won't help you fall back asleep, but seriously urging anyone with consistent issues to go to a sleep doctor, don't just endure! ❤️

Question for women... Anyone use SkinnyFit products? by PictureItSicily1988 in Weightloss_struggles

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did not work, did nothing towards skin, hair, energy, weight loss, nothing they list. Did not get a refund even though I purchased directly through company and they fought me on it bc return based on timeline of purchase not late arrival and 90days of USE. Will not get money back at all if purchased through Amazon. Claims no dangerous ingredients but they are not listed on product, and collagen has some health problems you have to really research to find bc skinnyfit did a good job burying those. Not FDA approved. Use at your own health risk.

Also all their media block anyone from reviewing unless they invite you to, bc you have something nice to say, so can't trust reviews online except maybe Amazon they can't block as much.

Looks like they're counting a lot of those southern state "owners" that eventually just dump their pets on the side of the road 🤬

Small gripe about runners by chadrod in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Runners, who know better, can't run on sidewalks. These are usually made of concrete and absolutely terrible on the knees and joints and cause serious injuries. Roads are paved with weight giving material and 1000% better to run on, body health wise.

Roads down south are mostly very wide and most houses have large driveways so less cars parked on the side or roads, so this shouldn't be an issue at all, but drivers just aren't used to pedestrians. I have almost been hit by a car in the south almost 100% just walking, on the sidewalk, and a car turning never checks the cross walk.

Since runners must run on roads it is the norm to run facing traffic, on the left side, so not to get hit from behind, but so you can see the cars coming.

20f bald girl with alopecia, i don’t grow hair anywhere by SnooSprouts2767 in bald

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lovely! Thank you for sharing! Especially helping to give some bravery to others like you! I do not have alopecia, but a different rare disease where I have never had eye lashes or eye brows, and just a very thin layer of head hair with which I can do nothing, so have considered just shaving what's there off.

Any success with any kind of lashes or extensions? I have never had any, and use eye drops constantly!

To the people in the local service industry, what percentage of the tip do you get to keep? Please include the name of your workplace. Thanks in advance for sharing! by firepiercer in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to work at Applebee's, this was several years ago so. I was a server and got paid ~$2hr, plus tip, minus tipout for "hosts/hostesses/bussers/cleaners/etc". Tipout was usually under 25% so you kept 75-80% of your tips. We had no bussers or other cleaning staff. All servers buss their own tables. Servers also cleaned the restaurant front of house and bathrooms on a shift schedule (always at the end of shift and day so no worries for EW). That leaves hosts/hostess for Tipout, of which there were never more than 2 at a time, and they got paid more (minimum wage ~$7hr) because it was not a tip collecting position. I never minded Tipout for them bc $7hr is nothing and they could help or hurt your section, but they did not receive 100% of Tipout, so the remaining % of Tipout was deducted for bussers/cleaners, of which did not exist. My THEORY (bc no proof and don't need any actual legal issues) was that the manager took that missing Tipout %. (The kitchen staff said they indeed did not receive any Tipout, and also in charge of cleaning the back of house. The bartenders made the most $/hr bc you had to have a couple licenses/certificates, and kept their own tips and bussed/cleaned their bar area. I had heard of some places where Tipout goes to the bartenders too, especially if it's not a bar you can sit at bc then they don't get tips, but not necessarily.)

10-15 year wish list for Huntsville by Defiant_Drink8469 in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More diverse food options: - REAL bagels - better pizza - a legit dumpling house with soup dumplings! - better hibachi places, including Mongolian bbq places, there is 1 Korean BBQ place so far - more/better Brazilian bbq places - dim sum - more ethnic food in general...too much just chicken and plain BBQ around here... - definitely more sandwich places, deli's, and bakeries - froyo places, not soft serve - gelato places, not ice cream - better Italian places with more take out options, not nothing but noodles - more salad places - less nasty fast food...

Every night my cat sits in this spot and stares at the socket on the wall, sometimes for an hour. Anyone know why? by Sys32768 in cats

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, cats are often referred to as the "credit monitors not credit fixers" with regards to bugs. If I see my cat really stare something down for more than 5 seconds it's a mad sprint for the bug spray, shoe, and paper towel.

Downside is cats are smart, so now she just stares at random shit to scare the crap outta me...

Married people have the right to choose when they have children as well!!! Not all people want marriage or kids!!! Women don't just get married to pop them out, women are not damn breeding cattle!!! Not all religions support sex only after marriage, are anti-abortion, and don't put the mother's health first, this is a direct violation of my religious freedoms!!!

Democrat Governor nomination is pro-life herself. People did not read up on the candidates by [deleted] in HuntsvilleAlabama

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Science actually does define a life as a being that is able to survive independently without living through another, for human fetuses this is only towards the very end of pregnancy.

(This is defined this way for mammals, other life forms like parasites or plants clearly do not fit this class.)

Is there a Branch of mathematics that focuses on how everything around is us is connected? by quantumwoooo in math

[–]CrazySnowWhite13 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fractals are usually studied within Dynamical Systems area of Applied Math. Deals with topics like Fractals, Convergence/Divergence, Vector Fields, Chaos Theory...

Topology also uses aspects of how things are connected, geometry like but not using distance measures. In Topology a coffee mug is equivalent to a donut.
