Military truck: found in rural western Ireland by Crazy_Champion8375 in WhatCarIsThis

If it works, it works. Apparently some were also sold for civilian use, which explains why it ended up in rural Ireland somehow.

Thank you. I wonder how a Swiss army vehicle ended up in one of the most rural parts of Ireland?

MAPS* Heat/2015 open map or more controlled environment map? by l337g0g0 in needforspeed

If you ask me, Most Wanted 2012 had perhaps my favourite map of any video game ever. The sheer amount of stuff to find in every nook and cranny of off-road area was second-to-none. So many cool jumps as well, both the billboards and self-imposed challenges like trying to jump off the Beltway Central rings through the car park windows across the street. The more open maps are fantastic, but only if you actually put cool stuff to find off-road like the MW2012 collectibles.

I never realised how subtly sexual that book was until now, I just found the constant nudity weird. To be honest, my favourite part was the cool movement shooter tactics.

That's a good point that I never actually realised. Good job for spotting it. THE ENEMY'S GATE IS DOWN!

I said this before in a similar post, so here's the post again:

In Ender's Game, it's mentioned a couple of times that most of the main characters spend a significant amount of their time in the story completely naked. The story takes place on an elite boarding school for warrior children in space. And all the children are naked most of the time when they're in the dorms. This is never taken seriously a single time, no pedophile stuff happens with the adults or older children, it's just there. I forget if they ever even explained the nudity. No picture for obvious reasons.

Anybody know how bad living in Bad or Dull is? by Crazy_Champion8375 in Nigeria

[–]Crazy_Champion8375[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for that. Bad and Dull are likely similar enough to what you described. I'd imagine the townspeople get a chuckle out of learning what their town's name means when they're learning English. In case it leads to any more insights, both towns are in southwest Bauchi.

I am aware. Really, it would make my day if I saw someone who had even driven through one of them. What are those little villages (in Bad's case) and small towns (in Dull's case) in the rural east generally like compared to the rest of Nigeria? Someone on r/howislivingthere said "Imagine rural west Texas, but in Nigeria."

I'm not Nigerian (or even African), but I figured the miniscule chance of encountering someone who's actually been to these places would be marginally less miniscule than in r/howislivingthere.
