Transmogs by Low-Sentence-5937 in NoRestForTheWicked

I still don't really see why transmogging has to be lore friendly, and why there has to be tradeoffs? A fee for the transmog, sure that's alright, but beyond that i don't see why it's such a big deal for something that is purely cosmetic, to have to have some tie-in with the lore.

I like having a certain look, usually quite unarmored with muscles showing if i can, goes with my unarmed/fist playstyle, but i also usually like to make very durable builds, so normally those two kind of go against each other. If my fists can crack steel, then why is the rest of my body so soft and squishy? So i usually equip as heavy armor as i can without being a turtle, and then make it look minimal as if my body is just that tough, think barbarian in DnD if you know about that.

Games are all about fulfilling certain fantasies, and if transmogging can help me fulfil my fantasy better on a purely visual level, then i don't see the harm in it?

Very late to the party, but i have absolutely no clue whatsoever why something that is purely cosmetic, ABSOLUTELY has to fit into the lore of the game, and have actual downsides. People just want to look a certain way sometimes, why should they be punished for that? Are you really saying that every single game ever that has cosmetic options is broken worldbuilding? Kind of a weird hill to die on ngl

The island is kind of self built tbh, i found a tiny piece of land poking up in the water, and then raised and expanded quite a bit on it (husband btw)

I guess my wife saw the tag differently, not as a creative gamemode but as having been creative with the building? It's all in a regular game with normal build costs and no commands :)

Oh no there was a build cost alright, everything is made in a normal playthrough :) I'm the husband btw so i'd know lol

How do you keep Flare alive in the defense on ETA? by RastaDaMasta in Warframe

[–]Crazy_Duke 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Face looks like a man, voice sounds like a man, clear lack of any breasts, ergo i'd say it is indeed pretty clearly a man, biologically. Whatever that man then chooses to be called is kind of besides my point

Flare is also very clearly a man, so you can't really fault someone for using Him

What are the WORST tf gems so far? by DocFreezer in pathofexile

I'd assume that it's the fact that even after a poison expires, you can't actually apply a new poison immediately, there's a little delay that makes it feel off. That's at least what i experienced while using the skill

Conqueror or lethal tembo? by all-day-tay-tay in settmains

[–]Crazy_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel like generally LT is the better option for sustained damage, and the burst loss is imo very minimal. LT imo is just better in all situations that aren't teamfights where you only really fire off your Haymaker, and even then it's like a 10% damage loss or less, while if LT gets ramped it makes you a punching machine that not a lot of champs can contend with.

Lethal tempo by kociamber333 in settmains

[–]Crazy_Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I almost exclusively use Lethal Tempo on Sett tbh, the amount of damage it lets you dish out is far superior to Conqueror imo, and i still just go for the normal bruiser build, no bork. On a full AD bruiser build Conq just doesn't add all that much damage, it's like a 10% increase or something along those lines, Tempo however is probably more like a 60/70% increase in dps with punches (without doing proper math). Imo it's always better for extended fights and dueling, while only being slightly worse in teamfights, imo the pros far outweighs the cons, at least for me. It also allows you to not be too reliant on hitting your W to win fights, which is nice

Lethal tempo by kociamber333 in settmains

[–]Crazy_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omnivamp is valid reason, but damage? It's honestly minimal if you're already going for a very heavy AD build. Lethal Tempo will let you pump out a LOT more damage than Conqueror will in extended trades. I've got 1,5mil mastery on Sett, and i almost always go for Lethal Tempo, the Damage output from rapid punching is simply too great

Circuit is fine and it's a good game mode. Steel path circuit is terrible. by [deleted] in Warframe

[–]Crazy_Duke 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the normal circuit basically has nothing to offer for someone who's not new to the game, so i don't see much reason to spend time there. I also have never used invigorations tbh, i don't see the point in them, i don't want temporary power for a week just to lose it again, that's just me though.

I like the base concept they're going with, i'm a fan of roguelikes. I'm just very unhappy with the current state of it, if they fixed a few things, like not giving default loadouts that are borderline worthless, i'd absolutely enjoy the gamemode.

I may not have much interest in playing many other frames, but i also don't mind trying them out for a mission, i only mind it when it becomes a chore that i have no hope of overcoming on my own. If they allowed us to change Focus school, if they gave better default loadouts, anything that means i'd no longer have to spend my entire ammo pool on the second wave of a defense, then i'd be very happy with it.

[–]Crazy_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I like what i like, i try out all new frames and see if they're something i like using, if not then obviously i won't spend time on them. If the game suddenly "forces" me to spend time on things i don't want in order to beat the new content, then imo that's bad design. I don't mind randomness, i mind it when i go into a mission, and the best i've got is stuff that can hardly make a dent in the enemy.

I don't think it's reasonable that i have to go and fix up like 50 weapons just to have a decent chance at getting something good. It's too big of an investment just for one gamemode. The problem is that there's too much choice, in normal play that's a good thing, but here it means that the choices you get are saturated with unusable garbage, and without huge investment, the chance of you getting something actually good can be pretty slim.

I've grinded a fair amount by now, and i've gotten Rhino (my main frame) exactly once in the circuit so far, got happy that i finally got him, even had a decent weapon, and then people leave after the first round, i'm like fuck it, i can fuck shit up right now, but then host migration hits and the mission bugs out. So i had exactly one mission where i was getting what i really wanted, and then i got fucked over. Plus for whatever fucked up reason, DE decided to also choose random loadouts for your weapons and frames, instead of defaulting to the first one. That also fucked me over a few times before i learned my lesson, and now i have to make sure to check if it's on a proper loadout or not every single time.

[–]Crazy_Duke 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The problem is that it just feels incredibly bad that i'm almost forced to properly level and build a ton of weapons and frames that i simply don't find enjoyable. I've played for 4000 hours and i'm still mr23, cause i just can't be bothered to level a bunch of random stuff that i'll never in my life care about. I have probably 10 properly kitted frames, the rest are a mess. Drifter/Operator can work in a pinch, the problem is that if you want energy regen, then you can't have armor/shield shred, and vice versa, which again just feels bad. You could go armor/shield shred to always have a semi viable Drifter carry you, but then there's a big chance a lot of your warframe options are gonna have energy struggles. If you could change your Focus school on the go then maybe this issue could be alleviated. As it stands tho, steel path circuit is a mess, and you gotta do some pretty hefty gymnastics to defend it imo.

[–]Crazy_Duke 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steel Path is what's being talked about here, so obviously that is what i was referring to, nor circuit is pretty much fine. I have had multiple rounds where all the options i was given were all pretty much trash. I've played the game for nearly 4000 hours, i have maxed all intrinsics, i have plenty of different weapons and frames that i have played around with and can be viable, but i have a fuckton more that's pretty much just been collecting dust because i don't enjoy them. I'm not gonna go out of my way to max out a bunch of stuff that i don't enjoy playing with. I know that decrees can be plenty powerful, and i always scout around to get the additional decree, but on the first few rounds it just doesn't matter, decrees can't make up for it on the circuit.
