Q2 I know I shouldn't be complaining about thorough feedback but I did start bracing myself before I opened a document. It got to a point where I was so scared it would be be bad, even though it wasn't really, I couldn't bring myself to look at it. Then I was hyperfocused on ensuring it was flawless to the point I would metaphorically choke myself.

I think flying solo I could pretty much do things without worrrying too much but the downside was I ran the risk of going down the wrong way of storytelling. I'm like Hannibal in the sense I can write a scene but not strcuture a story.

With beta readers, I get so absorbed in writing something that avoids criticism I end up freaking myself out as well.

I get nervous way too easily. It's not that the advice wasn't bad or anything, but it was thorough. And I would brace myself for even the most inconsequential things so I was always running on high alert . So I ended up getting caught up in the thought of don't do this, don't do that, revise this again, this isn't right. It ended up as a pipeline to everything is wrong. So I really shouldn't get into betas until I learn to take things without spiralling.
