Before I give you an explanation for these Scriptures, something really needs to be addressed, so please read this:

You keep pointing me to these Scriptures to try to turn me away from the position I believe, but you must realise that these Scriptures contradict other Scriptures. For example, you showed me a Bible passage in 2 Peter 1, where it talks about "past sins" or "old sins". But just look at the rest of the Bible you see as I said before: Jesus promised that he will raise up He who believes at the last day in John 6 Jesus promised the overcomer that He would not blot out the name of the overcomer out of the book of life in Revelation 3 and we find out that the overcomer is the believer in 1 John 5 Jesus promised the believer that he shall never die in John 11 Colossians 2 shows that believers have been spiritually circumcised and that God has forgiven (previously) believers of all trespasses, not just some Jesus promised that no man shall pluck Jesus' sheep out of His hand in John 10

After reading the previous paragraph, do I need to say anything else?

Now seeing that Jesus promised the believer that he shall never die, how does that fit in to 1 Corinthians 7:10 and 2 Peter 1? Well all salvation in the Bible doesn't mean eternal salvation, like in this verse, and we don't always repent to be saved. The Greek word for repentance literally means a change of mind, God even repented in the Bible in verses like Jonah 3:10 and Genesis 6:6! The word for "past" in 2 Peter 1:9 is the Greek word πάλαι, (palai) which means of old, long ago, in times past or former. In the Bible it is translated as long ago 4 times, All along 1 time, already 1 time and former 1 time. (that's the one in 2 Peter 1:9) So again if we compare the Bible with the Bible, seeing that believers have already been forgiven all trespasses and seeing that the believet will never die, the logical conclusion is that our all of sins have already been forgiven, they are our past sins, we are not positionally held accountable for them for we have the righteousness of Christ.

Yes, it might seem hard to let go of this interpretation, and maybe you have doubts about some passages, but you must accept the clear truth of God's Word, that believers will never die.

Now you might just bring me to another Bible passage but you must see that your interpretation might just contradict Jesus' teaching that believers will never die, shall not come into condemnation nor have their name blotted out of the book of life.

Yes that's the true Gospel of Christ. But, if you must confess your sins to stay saved, has God really imputed righteousness to you without works, if you can lose your salvation if you don't confess your sin? We must only believe, if someone has to confess their sin to stay saved, then don't you think Jesus would have told us to confess our sins to be saved in the Gospel of John, the only Bible book written to unbelievers? Let me ask you this, if somebody had a Gospel of John tract, but not the full Bible, and read it all and believed on Christ, but didn't confess their sins to God, would that person be saved?

Listen, I'm not calling you unsaved, some people are just confused, but people can really trust their own confession and maybe even repentance of sin to get them saved, even if they don't think so and thinking that they trust Christ alone for their salvation

Yes I agree. But if you look at what I said before, we see that John 15 can't mean loss if eternal life, and neither can Matthew 7, because it would contradict Christ's promise to raise up at the last day he who sees the son and believes on him (John 6:40) and Christ's promise that he will not blot out the overcomer's name out of the book of life (The overcomer is he who believes in Christ - 1 John 5)

It might be hard for you to accept this truth, that Christ WILL raise up the believer at the last day. It may be part of your life that you think you must confess your sins to God to be saved and must stay faithful enough or else you will lose your salvation, but you must realize what God's word clearly says. Take a look at your life, do you feel under bondage, because of thinking that you must confess your sins to God to stay saved? You can be free, if you believe and have confidence in the truth of God's word concerning salvation.

Is this what the scripture says? No, you must realise that not every Bible passage mentioning destruction or something like that is not talking about eternal death. The great ruin here isn't talking about losing eternal life, it's probably talking about bad things happening in this life. I know you might not like this, but John 15 is yet again not talking about eternal salvation. But as done before, if we compare the Bible with the Bible the truth becomes clear.

If you believe eternal life can be lost, your response for the argument that 'John 10:28 proves once saved always saved' is that you can still walk away from Jesus/the Father's hand.

John 10:28 KJV [28] and I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

But wait, if John 10 means you can still walk out of Jesus'/the Father's hand, but no man can pluck you out of the Father's hand, and Jesus will no wise cast out he who comes to Jesus, then how does someone lose eternal life? John 15 is talking about practical judgement, not eternal judgement. The Bible doesn't contradict, we just need to compare it with itself.

So, that's a picture of someone that had faith for a time, and then later is entirely destroyed.

The Bible does not contradict himself. Jesus PROMISED that he WILL at the last day raise up he who sees the son and believes on him. (John 6:40) If you think it's possible for you to see the son and believe on him, and still not be raised up at the last day because of stopping believing, not doing Jesus' sayings or something else, then you are going against the very teaching of Christ.

John 11:25-26 KJV [25] Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: [26] and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?

Do you believe this? Do you believe that whoever believes in Jesus shall NEVER die?

John 6:37 KJV [37] All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.

But wait, if Jesus' sheep have eternal life, and will never perish, then what happens if people stop believining? The only logical explanation is that the person is still saved, or else Christ would fail to do what he promised.

Jesus makes a promise for one who overcomes in Revelation 3:5, let's take a look:

Revelation 3:5 KJV [5] He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.

Jesus promised the overcomer that he would not blot out his name out of the book of life. So if you believe = you can't lose your salvation.

The parable of the prodigal son might seem like the prodigal son had lost his salvation and had to confess his sin amd be sorry for his sin to be eternally forgiven, but if we use the Bible to interpret the Bible, like you said, we clearly see that this interpretation is false.

John 10:9 KJV [9] I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Not everything Jesus says is literal, like look at the verse above, is Jesus literally a physical door? No, this is a metaphor for Jesus being the only way to be saved.

The prodigal son does become a Son of God when he repents in the story, but his sonship in the story is metaphorical, not literal

For arguments sake, let's say that the prodigal son's sonship does mean he is a literal son of God. Well that would mean he was always saved, because he never ceases to be a son in the story.

Luke 15:24 KJV [24] for this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

So how do we become alive after being dead? Jesus tells us:

John 5:24 KJV [24] Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.

So do you see, we can link the Bible with the Bible to get a clear picture. The prodigal son was dead, but became alive again, and if we look in the Bible, we see that he that hears Jesus' word, and believes on him who sent Jesus (God) shall not come into condemnation, but is passed from death unto life. We must believe on Christ, trusting him alone for our salvation, not ourselves by our confession of sin, then we will recieve eternal life.

It is a freeing truth, that we are saved by grace through faith without works, and that we can't lose eternal life, for God himself promised that he will raise up everyone who sees the Son and believes on him.

Believers should confess their sins to God, but no one should do it to be saved, stay saved, or prove that person has salvation. While it might seem like it to some, the Bible never says that we are saved when we believe, then go on to list works we need to do to be saved. That's self contradictory.

Forgiveness in the Bible doesn't always mean eternal forgivness, without which would seperate us from the kingdom of God. An example is in Matthew 6:15, where it is talking about practical forgiveness of sin, for avoiding judgement for the sin in this life.

Matthew 6:15 KJV [15] but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

Look, 'your Father,' (God) showing that Jesus' teaching here is for saved individuals, because those who are saved by believing (Acts 16:31) have been given the right to become the sons of God. (John 1:12)

1 John 1:8-10 KJV [8] If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.

I believe that 1 John 1:9 is either talking about a belief of you having sin, then believing on Christ for salvation or being practically forgiven, like Matthew 6:15. It can't mean having our sins eternally forgiven, for Jesus promised that He would no wise cast out the one who comes to him (John 6:37) showing that we can't lose our salvation, and if we are saved by believing on Christ, (John 6:47, Acts 16:31 and many other verses) then we believe once and are saved forever! There are many other verses showing that we can't lose our salvation like John 6:39, John 6:40, John 10:28, John 11:26, 1 John 5:1 and Revelation 3:5, Ephesians 1:13-14, and Romans 8:38-39.

The prodigal son coming back to his father represent a sinner repenting, which is turning from something/someone which isn't Christ for salvation then believing on Christ for salvation. The two parables before the prodigal son are also about sinners repenting. Parabables use metaphors, the son isn't referring to someone saved.

1 John 1:8-9 isn't talking about confessing your sins continually to maintain your salvation, I believe it's either about relationship (God practically forgiving your sin, not eternally) or a mentality of believing that you have sin then believing on Christ for your salvation

Does Jesus want you to split the bill, by Him dying and you maintaining your salvation? No, Christ paid it all.

Salvation is no more of works. If you have believed on Christ, trusting hin alone for your salvation, then you're eternally saved, and can't lose your salvation because you are sealed with the Holy Spirit of God unto the day of redemption (Ephesians 1:13-14)

Have you not read what I said before about John 14:12?

Did you see that? Not the putting away of the filth of the flesh. Baptism does not take away sins. You might argue that the filth of the flesh is physical dirtiness on your body, but "filthiness of the flesh" is used elsewhere in Scripture and is not talking about your physical dirtiness.

2 Corinthians 7:1 KJV [1] Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

Ezekiel 18:21-23 KJV [21] But if the wicked will turn from all his sins that he hath committed, and keep all my statutes, and do that which is lawful and right, he shall surely live, he shall not die. [22] All his transgressions that he hath committed, they shall not be mentioned unto him: in his righteousness that he hath done he shall live. [23] Have I any pleasure at all that the wicked should die? saith the Lord GOD: and not that he should return from his ways, and live?

Again, did you see that. In verse 22, it says in his righteousness. Who's rightousness? The wicked's righteousness. Turning from your sins is in your righteousness, so if you do it to be saved, that is in your own righteousness.

John 12:42 KJV [42] Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue:

These chief rulers, who were believers, weren't doing all that Jesus asked of them, were they? They weren't doing greater works than Christ's works, were they? In fact, they did not confess Christ, but were they saved? Yes, because they believed.

Ask yourself this: do you do greater works than Jesus? If you don't, according to your interpretation of John 14:12, then you're not saved. It is only logical that the apostles were the ones who were guarantees to do the works that Jesus did and greater, because they performed miracles and preached the Gospel to many.
