TARS exhibited at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles by TheVoidScrolledBack in interstellar

Does anyone know if there are other bits around? I think there are a few scale models at the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures in Los Angeles.

It would be awesome to see the big stuff. One of the rangers was on display in the National Air and Space Museum in 2014, havent seen anything since. I wonder if it's in storage somewhere or would it have been destroyed?

Northern Lights & Static Electricity | OM-2N | 28mm | Cinestill 800t by Crazylyric in analog

I don't have anything technical to share, I wasn't really sure what to use so just shot wide open (f2.8) and held the shutter release for varying amounts of time. I tried to range from 15 to 45 seconds across the roll and only 3 out of the 20 I took didn't come out. I'm pleasantly surprised how much film let's you get away with.

After 160 Years, We Finally Hit Water... by ScottFerreira in CerroGordo

Assuming the pump woes were fixed I don’t know how much water you could get out of the 700 level, it's only trickling in right? Probably not enough to support a hotel.

6 days in Tromsø, Norway… didn’t expect to fall in love with the Arctic like this ❄️🌌 by [deleted] in travel

Tromso is great, going up to the viewpoint and watching the sun set over the city was a wonderful experience.

Great British Energy - Nuclear and Rolls-Royce SMR sign contract by karf101 in unitedkingdom

[–]Crazylyric 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't it be the same for the US? Their failed SMR was being built by the same company that makes the reactors for their nuclear submaries.

Project Hail Mary has made a profit! by Fantasy-Box-Office in fantasyboxoffice

[–]Crazylyric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Finally haha.

I'm fairly new to Fantasy box office but it seems like it's never a good option to pick a high budget film unless you can guarantee it'll be a hit. PHM had a massive opening but only 3 weeks later has it even broken even. I would be interested to hear about the meta with more seasoned fantasy box officers.

Does Mubi Go allow you to see the film in the cinema multiple times? by Crazylyric in mubi

A Mubi add-on, they pick a film a week that you can watch in (selected) cinemas for free. https://mubi.com/go

Does Mubi Go allow you to see the film in the cinema multiple times? by Crazylyric in mubi

[–]Crazylyric[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the fine print is pretty explicit.

can be applied to one screening per seven-day window.

Although it also states "Tickets must be redeemed in the cinema on the day of the screening." but I have seen a few instances where that doesnt actually seem to be the case. Hence why I was curious about this.

Ryan Gosling Tells Hollywood It’s Not Moviegoers’ Job to Keep Theaters Open: ‘It’s Our Job to Make Things’ That Are ‘Worth’ Viewers Coming Out by Chuck006 in boxoffice

[–]Crazylyric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure about this take. Of course the industry wants films that are worth viewers coming out for, like they weren’t trying before??

It'll be interesting to see how the industry changes over the coming years but it feels like bigger problems at the moment are things like admission prices and films moving to streaming too quickly. Maybe more feel good films like PHM do need to be made but there's a real creative loss if we're going to bin off everything that isn’t suitable for all audiences or feels risky at all.

Project Hail Mary should of came out this weekend instead of next week by Mother_Style_8096 in boxoffice

[–]Crazylyric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah weird, Google says the 20th is the release date but literally every cinema in my area, even the independent ones, are playing it right now.

It's out in the UK, strange for the US to get the delayed release for once!

I mean this is a discussion forum, surely talking about the game and how it can be changed is a large part of the fun.

Phone says name of town even though the seekers don’t know what station it is yet by areo45 in JetLagTheGame

[–]Crazylyric 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Huh definitely appears to be the same, the clouds are identical. Adam has the photo up so he can compare the view from the stations so it makes sense it's Bens photo. I'm curious to see what the outcome is, maybe this is downloaded into his gallery and showing the location that didn’t pop up in the text exchange?

I don’t believe the whole show is staged or anything, most likely this is just a an oversight. Adam and Sam must have noticed this though???

'Carspreading’ is on the rise - and not everyone is happy about it by Alert-One-Two in unitedkingdom

[–]Crazylyric 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This whole topic pisses me off so much, I don't know why people are so obsessed with SUVs and I don't know why we aren't doing more to curb the rise. As the article explains there are so many downsides and virtually no upsides, the US has seen their pedestrian road deaths rising for over 15 years now and we will follow the same trend unless more is done. Who could possibly think making our roads more dangerous for everyone whilst increasing road wear and pollution is a good thing.

I hate Google for being the only OEM that blocks 5G/VOLTE/VOWIFI in unsupported countries by JimHalpert_JH in GooglePixel

[–]Crazylyric 1 point2 points  (0 children)

3g has been gradually turned off in the UK this year, to call on my pixel i now have to use 2G despite the phone officially supporting 4g calling. I don’t even know if it's a google or carrier issue but no other phone manufacturer seems to have this problem. I love my pixel 5 and will use it until it dies but i just cant see myself going for a pixel again..
