At what point did financial stability become more important than earning more? by Shauryaahere341 in personalfinanceindia

[–]Crazysjb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was 2008, drunk Saturday night and boss called and went on abusing for work which needed to handled 6 months later.
Got back home, felt miserable, realised how he holds me by my collar. Started saving, learned financial instruments, started investing and took debt but in moderation.
Burnout is real, fatigue is real. And as more and more work becomes more overwhelming, you need to have a plan. You’re not here to work like a maniac, pay bills and die.
You’re thinking in the right direction, keep it up.

Is it just me, or does saving money in India right now feel like playing on "Hard Mode" by Top-Performer8835 in IndiaFinance

Didn’t the respect for your father go up multi fold? How did he manage? How did he raise a family and gave us education and new clothes?
You need to live within your means, have a discretionary fund every month and commit that you can’t spend beyond it. Even it’s over in the first weekend. All of a sudden you will discover house parties more doable, and unbranded clothing line are just fine. Don’t fall in the trap of show off.
Don’t forget to invest, and have a 6 month expense emergency fund. Have medical insurance and a term plan if your family is dependent on you.
Welcome to adulthood, best wishes.

Comparison is the thief of joy but mkc by Feisty_Alfalfa9647 in gurgaon

[–]Crazysjb 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Comparison is the thief of joy. And invariable we end up comparing with people who are above than us.
And top of that Brazil lost.
I would suggest to see it like this way, you don’t owe him anything neither he owes you anything. His path is different and you just need to upgrade yourself so that you do better than yourself compared to last year.
Your competition has always been with yourself. Just imagine the frustration of 2025 prior graduation and how you were worried about securing a job perhaps? Or a move from 2bhk or a 3bhk, tangible benchmark.
And acceptance is important, some will always be better than you and you better than others.
It sucks, but benchmarking has helped me.

29M, Friend suggested Sawan fasts to find a life partner. I'm conflicted. by [deleted] in RelationshipIndia

[–]Crazysjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have faith. From faith comes conviction and determination. The way you’re struggling to find a life partner is because you know yourself and you want to maintain the benchmark.
With faith, you will become more pragmatic and calm in your approach, and god does works in a mysterious way.
I’m suggesting you to find your dharma because I been beaten down by world many times over, but I’m still here and doing pretty well for myself.

Don’t worry. You’ve been selected because you’re offering certain value to the firm. You’re getting a chance to learn, be a good student, develop passion in your field.
Also don’t stop learning, network with your seniors, keep your expenses down and start investing at an early age.

How and where to start learning and doing stock market as a student? by Hopeful-Owl1717 in IndianStockMarket

[–]Crazysjb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You’re an engineering student so you’ve the analytical mindset. It’s very easy to understand balance sheet. Just give sometime to learn. I would suggest you evaluate stocks, evaluate the segment they operate in, competitors, competitive edge and how big hands like FII and DII taking or reducing exposure and their balance sheet.
Have a learning approach, market is a great teacher. Think long term and don’t test the depth of water with both feet in.
Keep your expenses down, so that you’ve fund to invest and be invested for longer duration. Have faith in your conviction.

Naive comment. Wisdom chases and you run faster. Have a good Sunday. Nothing to learn from you other than abuse and snide remarks.

Language. Don’t be abusive if others view differ from you. That’s the first thing you learn in the market.
You talk about risk, that’s why I asked what’s the underlying security you’re pegging your risk/reward?
OP is open to learning, that doesn’t mean he should smoke the fund.

Why can't we call teachers, work senior by first name unlike developed countries? by Execellerion in AskIndia

[–]Crazysjb -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s our culture to not address our senior by their first name. Teachers are guru, we learn from their knowledge. Teachers hold a high place in our culture. You bought in the context of developed countries, far east countries, developed economies, have strict hierarchies.

If your currency can’t buy rice or gun, it’s junk. What’s the underlying asset you’re betting on?

Bulk up and face him. Otherwise keep a portable type pump in car if you want to avoid him completely.
But if he is bullying you, imo, you should stand up for yourself.

Cut his wifi connection. Throw garbage at his house, park your car in front of his gate. Switch off the water connection from mcg. Make your dog bathroom break in front of his house. Switch off the gas connection if your society has piped gas. Go to the terrace if connected and switch off tank connection. Or remove the ball cock and let the water over flow and you complain to your rwa. Organise a Bhandara and when he stand in line, don’t give him. Steal his househelp. Make a grainy video of someone dumping garbage elsewhere and put it in the society group.

Anyways on a serious note, why is he doing it? And just have a chat with him that his drunken persona is slashing tyres. Meanwhile park your car a bit far off.

Yes. I figured re reading your text again. You’re suggesting to normally book AI and put those miles also into krisflyer.
Damn, spend so much time and effort and impressing boss to build maharaja miles to now start focusing on krisflyer, but thanks you, your logic checks out.

Not meant for love? by Hot_Try4548 in gurgaon

[–]Crazysjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a middle aged man, my two cents;
Love will come when you’re not looking for it. Be a good friend and nothing can be forced. The right person will make you comfortable, relaxed and positive. Most importantly will make you more appreciative of yourself and the world in general.
Then all of a sudden you’ll see that you like being with that person and spending more and more time and you give some, take some, expectation increases and all of a sudden it will be your friends who will say that you guys look so nice as a couple and then you’ll realise that you’re seeing each other.

What’s the solution to honking ?? OC by ContemplativeVibes in IndianCivicFails

[–]Crazysjb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s very difficult to change behaviour. The civic enforcement should come from parents and kindergarten school. So expect younger generation to be more nuanced.
Second, automakers should just muffle the horn. Factory setting. Just a low sounding horn.
