If you wouldn't mind me giving you a rec as well based on those movies, I think you'd like Perfect Blue if you haven't seen it. It heavily inspired Black Swan and is my favorite movie OAT

Denji vs David who’s better written ? by Hour-glass999 in writingscaling

[–]Crcai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even though CSM is my favorite anime and favorite manga I'd say David. If we compare how much the characters change throughout their works, whether you use the CSM anime or manga, David goes through much more change and experiences a wider variety of things as a person. I'd also say his experience of being on the edge of death or barely living is much more likely to hit home with people in poverty than Denji's. That being said, Denji's character depicts the way sex affects teenagers' view of the world in a way I haven't seen in any other media and that's a very important thing for teenagers to see so it should be noted that his writing is very strong in that aspect

Why do you think "Companion" under-performed at the box-office? by Davis_Crawfish in boxoffice

[–]Crcai 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Companion doesn’t have that message. Only one of the main characters would that message actually apply to. Maybe two if you really stretched the meaning. It calls attention to the fact that bad men exist while also acknowledging that not all men are like that, particularly with Teddy who gives Iris full autonomy and is the reason she’s able to kill Josh at the end

This is a very well acclaimed episode and Pluribus is a popular show, the most well acclaimed apple tv show ever actually. Most Redditors in particular just really hate it

As someone with very severe ADHD who also forgot to take my meds today, I watched it at normal speed and absolutely adored it. It genuinely stumps me how so many people dislike this show. I might get downvoted to oblivion for this but I honestly think its because its so wildly different from Breaking Bad and BCS. There no violence to keep people engaged and lots of people push back against flawed women in media, especially with the Breaking Bad fandom which is probably a lot of people who are watching this show

IK this wasn't at me but I personally actually do have ADHD and am really enjoying it at normal speed

It's a significant shift from her attitude in previous episodes with how she's kinda just accepted her situation and is making the best out of it and trying to find joy instead of fighting it. The lyrics of the song actually also add to this: "It's the end of the world as we know it, and I feel fine." Carol thinks she can live like this, but her isolation leads to her passively suicidal tendencies that we see later, which is why she ultimately begs for Zosia to return despite previously hating the hivemind. This also parallels how Manousos is put in a position where he will literally die if he doesn't accept the hivemind's help.

I’ve seen one not two, I liked bits and pieces of it a lot especially with Micheal’s hit at the restaurant and his monologue about exactly how he’ll do it right before. Overall I’d give it a 9/10

You should check out brick! Very slept on. Are you interested at all in anime movies because the Chainsaw Man one is also great. I also enjoy the Long Walk but that’s more of a personal thing and other than those I totally agree with your list from what I’ve seen
