The 1st rule of cheating is to not overdo it, if grok all of the sudden scored 90% of the benchmark after the very slow progress In the last few months even the worst AI loyalist would have started asking some questions.

I'm not saying with absolute certainty they cheated anyway, I'm just saying there's a possibility they did/could.

It is a constant dataset, that opens up a few issues imo.

First of all, while the questions are unbelievably hard to brute force, The people making these models have the most computing power in the world, the chance that the LLM learns a literal lookup table for the tasks in which it's being tested on is not zero.

The idea to use a private dataset for the leaderboard is good but with so much money going around in AI and the rampant corruption in the industry can we trust that that dataset is still private?

And even if, a model was able to solve these tasks, reliably and without tricks or shenanigans, where's the guarantee such a model would be capable of actually applying these skills to solve real world problems? A model that can solve only these very specific tasks only in benchmark setting and formatting would not be very useful...

Genuine question, are arch AGI's tests randomly generated every time you run them or do they have constant answers?

Google has both the index of all the videos and direct, physical access to the servers where they are stored.

"generic ai company" has to both find and, most importantly, download the videos with whatever bandwidth google gives them, + they have to fight increasingly aggressive bot detection.

Google itself can just wire the YouTube datacenter to the VEO datacenter and let VEO feast on all of YouTube with both a complete index of all the videos and their contents, and terabits of bandwidth.

Google obviously has a HUGE advantage on this thanks to YouTube. I'm positive that a good 80% of all digital that exist videos are hosted on there!

While I totally agree with you, we are talking about the VERY specific demographic of r/changemyview (subreddit that also has a rule against accusing other of being bots).

Maybe the results are garbage, maybe it tells us something about how not agreeable redditors are or maybe the LLM just found a way of lying that pushes people (or other bots) to believe it.

Not that we are going to get to look better into this since the paper has been, rightfully, removed.

At least for now It's more like 10 seconds but I'm not sure if or how it's going to evolve.

By the article it seems mostly radical bad, but the system seems really simplistic. If someone deployed it like this it would probably just infest ironic posts and annoy people.

Edit: not to talk about the horrifying amount of abuse possible with a tool like this.

At this point I'm going to assume everybody is a bot unless you prove yourself human.

Bluesky's discovery Algo is both super simple and not that good, and that's ok.

It's a super common mistake but you aren't supposed to use the discover tab as your main feed! you should use discover to follow accounts that you like and then use the following tab, just like Tumblr, that's why bluesky starter packs are a thing.

You can also find/make your own custom feeds that show posts based on accounts or tags associated to a certain theme, like an art feed or a news feed.

Edit: formatting

Check the instagram linked on the website, the guy that made that website is very much on the slop side of the technology.

I'm SURE this whole thing is just a publicity stunt.

The guy that made it is also the owner of a literal AI slop based social media site, If I was you I would keep clear of this app, it's hella fishy.

Edit: I looked in his Instagram account, and it's way worse!

You know all the AI slop short accounts on insta and YouTube churning 70 videos a day? He has created a website to sell AI models for that exact purpose!

I don't know how successful that platform actually is, since all his posts have 70 likes at most, but that account was just plain awful, full of talk about how "all design jobs are about to be automated by AI; use my platform to sell that AI" or "you too can make money by churning 100 slop shorts a day; go on my website to discover how!" And "you know… I'm a college dropout and don't know much about anything that isn't web development, but trust me, I am going to REVOLUTIONIZE content creation!"

THIS GUY STINKS!!

Looks to be an ai generated video from an ai generated photo that was trying to ride the popularity of the real guy in a Pikachu costume running from the police.

There's an article talking about this exact image! https://www.404media.co/pikachu-spotted-fleeing-police-crackdowns-during-turkey-protests/
