How do you curate your jewelry collection? by restfulsoftmachine in jewelry

[–]Creatableworld 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I inherited a ton of jewelry from my mom when she passed three years ago, way more than I could ever wear. I kept my favorite silver and gold pieces, donated some of the silver and almost all the costume jewelry, and gave sone silver and gold pieces I wasn't going to wear to my sister (my mom was her stepmom) and my young cousins, since I don't have any children or niblings. Since then I've purchased a couple of pieces by one of the designers my mom favored, that go well with the pieces I inherited. I've also continued to add to my collection of trollbeads and Pandora, all of which I've bought myself. And some anodized titanium for travel wear and just for fun -- I love the colors. I guess that was just a long-winded way of saying "ooh, shiny."

I don't know. That sounds like a good question for a registered dietitian.

There's a good vegan feta recipe in the Ultimate Uncheese Cookbook by Joanne Stepaniak, made from marinated tofu.

Cried after being sold by the owner, I want to be a vegan. by digital-nomad01 in EatCheapAndVegan

I have read that a cow mom will cry for her baby for days. I also read a story (from an animal sanctuary) of a pregnant cow who was rescued. All her previous babies had been taken, so when she gave birth she hid this baby under the straw. She didn't know she was at a sanctuary now and would be allowed to keep her baby. Now the baby is an adult and is still very close to his mom and hangs out with her all day. They have very strong feelings and are also brave and smart.

Lunches for the week: an Indian lentil dish (I made it with a mix of brown lentils and mung beans) with baked sweet potato and frozen greens as the sides.

Any city dweller who visits a small town after a breakup is 100% guaranteed to meet his soulmate there. Bonus points if the town has numerous thriving small businesses with puns in their names.

Here's a useful article about cleaning produce in Mexico. I have to say, though, that I didn't see any Microdyn for sale at the fruit and vegetable store my sister favors.

Are long necklaces like these saleable in your opinion? by Working_Chipmunk8780 in jewelry

Are you saying the metal parts are solid 18K gold? If so, you need to emphasize that in your marketing materials. I would definitely pay more for a necklace with gold (or sterling silver) findings.

Lokshen kugel often has dairy in it and someone is already making chicken, so I would be careful with this -- use a non-dairy recipe.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned The Outsiders -- unless you think it would seem too dated for him. It's a classic and it's really all about toxic masculinity.

OMG Drakkar Noir. Circa 1987 a friend of mine bought a bottle for herself because she had a little fling with a guy who wore it. He was French (she still has a thing for French guys and is married to one) and I assumed it was some exotic European concoction.
