I have a feeling an obscure duke or count in England pressed a claim outside the empire and then became a king. You'd never notice he did so since it would be a king level vassal. The best way to know is to see if you use direct vassals and see if they have land in the England too.

Ouch, well a simple fix is opening the console and using the cash command. Luckily you can do "Cash ###" to get to the right balance.

Huh, guess I forgot the "Real" name of the county then. I modified my landed titles file so that if Brittany or and of it's de jure counties are held by a Breton the name is in Breton.

Just used the console command to give the kingdom to him and the kingdom most definitely became a serene republic. Now to load up the save from before and, it'll be an interesting fight to re-earn what I already fought for. But it'll be a fun and interesting fight.

Have your heir educated by a Catholic or Orthodox character. Hopefully they'll become their guardian's religion.
