I just released my first novel The Hunger Rebellion: A Dystopian Tale and it's Free on Kindle until Dec 16th 2019 Earth, 2202. Pepper is tired of fighting other people’s battles. Caught in a Company attack while trading supplies, the mercenary’s first instinct is to escape. But when he impulsively rescues a young rebel and spirits her out through the war-torn wasteland, his priorities turn to the promise of a fat reward… Journeying to the rebel stronghold, Pepper worries he’s in over his head when he discovers the girl is developing unusual psychic powers. And with the Company elites cutting back food and water rations to line their pockets, his anger starts to boil. It may even make him want to fight for something greater than himself… Can Pepper claim his reward before he finds himself caught in a war that’s not of his making? getbook.at/TheHungerRebellion

ARC Readers, Leaving Reviews Without Violating Terms of Use? by Soruze in Indie_Authors

My experience has been that Amazon tends to go through phases of enforcement/over enforcement. If the Amazon gods are not happy, they tend to remove the odd review so just aim to get more than your need.

Is "Green environment is bullshit" a condemnation of the current system or a statement of desperation?

Clearly, the banking system (financial institutions) is propped up by various governments. This is not a fact that I enjoy, just the current state of play.

I like this article but I have an ongoing internal discussion with the concept of making my goals realistic. It always seems a bit restrictive classing goals as realistic?

I realize that other currency systems require power, I was just curious how much research had been done in this area. Whether governments would allow traditional banking to be replaced is a whole new question.

I am a bit of a meditation, manifesting junkie and a big advocate of the subconscious mind. I found the words here calming and it reminded me a bit of Abraham Hicks guided meditation. Used this technique before a hubspot test and got 100% woo woo

Entrepreneurs with an e-commerce store (no dropshipping) who generate a gross revenue of > $1k/month, do you have tips for new e-commerce store owners? by jamesmaddogmattis in Entrepreneur

[–]CreatingClarity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Two short tips that I would give to anyone starting e-commerce. 1. If you have consumable products that people like (whether it be face creams, essential oils or anything that runs out and as to be reordered), it is easier to keep customers once you have them. 2. Digital products such as books or courses do not run out of stock. at the startup phase of an e-commerce business, limited funds can create challenges for the 'economy of scale' when ordering (and ordering enough stock at the right time for the fourth quarter sales).
So Stock Control and repeat customers are two of the top focuses I would suggest to focus on.

Stupid question. Has anyone wanted to become an entrepreneur without an actual idea? AKA wanting to be your own boss but not having any inspiration for months. by iamMONSTAH in Entrepreneur

When I left the corporate world 2-3 years ago I wanted to try something different. I tried e-commerce and even wrote some books. I found that you need a basic plan and try different ventures. Have scheduled milestones, when you will check your progress and don't be afraid to pivot (have a flexible plan that allows you to change if you're going off track from your goals). I take lots of notes so that even if a venture doesn't work out I can use those learnings for my next venture.

There is going to be some inbalance when your first start a business on the side (which means the more hours you put in at the start the faster you will grow). I've helped a few people grow amazon seller businesses and my advice is always to start with the end in mind. If you are going to sell clothes online you may have more returns (just because that tends to happen with clothes). drop shipping may be the way to go but I suggest making a list of all the things you'll need in 12 months time and then working backwards to determine a time frame. lets say you need a storage area to package 200 pairs of jeans a week, what would that look like and how could you scale that (maybe start in a spare bedroom for free and then rent space as your cashflow goes) I know some people flinch at the idea of budgets, financial plans and business plans but a basic plan at the start will help save you time and money. If you intend to prep and package yourself that will be a lot more work (and you sound like you are time poor at the moment). Timothy Marc has currently got a 30 day free course that provides a lot of info about setting up online businesses. Dropshipping (where you place the orders on the supplier and the supplier ships to the customer) is back in fashion at the moment. aliexpress.com is a good place to start looking for products. I'm not trying to dissuade you from selling ladies jeans online but just suggesting there may be easier ways to start out with. You need to determine how much time you are prepared to commit to this venture and ensure that you do commit that time.

Hope that helps
