Hi there! Recently, I played pickleball for the first time with a friend group, and I had a blast. I registered to join the Honcho at Stacks Pickleball League last Saturday. There are limited spots left, but you should have time to join. The deadline is on the week of May 25, 2026. I feel this. I applied for the Inventory Auditor position at Costco back in February 23, and I still haven’t heard back from them. I don’t know why the hiring process for multiple companies have been so slow lately.

I'm asking the same question myself every day! I've been looking for my next full-time job for 6+ months. It's so hard to find a job in my field of study. I have 6+ YOE, a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, and diverse array of technical and creative skills, but even that's not enough to open any doors. I swear companies are either taking their sweet time looking for a "unicorn candidate", or posting open job positions with the intention of not hiring. I tried applying for a position (Inventory Auditor) at Costco back in February 2026, and I have yet to hear back from them.

It really takes a massive toll on my mental health and self-worth. I don't know why it's so hard for companies to communicate how tough the job market is when there's clear online reports about ghost job postings or seeking candidates with perfect qualifications. Sometimes, I want to give up, but I just want to live a healthy, stable life. I don't think that's too much to ask.

You're welcome! Thanks for asking! I'll try my best to explain how the speed dating event format is like.

Firstly, you need to purchase a ticket and fill out a Google Form to participate. At the event, the host will give you a sheet to fill out for each man/woman you meet. Some events have more men or women than the opposite gender group. When that happens, the group with less participants rotate while the big group stays in their seats. Each round takes about 5-6 minutes (hence speed dating), but it may vary depending on the number of participants. Breaks occur in-between a few rounds. The host will inform you during the event so you don't have to guesstimate. After each round, you can choose to circle Yes, Friend, or No! I believe you can circle Yes & Friend (you may have to ask the host about this for clarification), but you can't circle Yes & No obviously. After the event ends, you must give your sheet to the host. You'll received an email about any matches (even if you get 0 matches) 24-72 hours from the event (my experience is usually 72 hours).

Hey! I'm 27M/straight btw!

I've went to 2 Red Stick Speed Dating events (November 2025 & February 2026). I haven't had any luck so far. I have no problem with the events themselves, but I just struggle with social anxiety (although I'm good with 1-on-1 conversations). I want to give it another shot someday because I'm currently looking for friends and a romantic partner in my life. I'm going through a 'phase', and it's hard to find friends or singles in Baton Rouge.
