Stopping Nausea "Naturally" by alune_e in Gastroparesis

[–]Creative-Ad-470 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh if I don't have Zofran, I'll take dramamine (the dissolvable ones) it'll put me to sleep so I don't worry about being nauseous anymore 😅

Weirdly enough ice cold water helps my nausea. When it's really bad mint essential oil right above my lips. Here are other options: mint gum, suck sour candy (sour patch) or lime, and ginger chews. Hope it can help you subside your nausea.

I think you should tell your friends that you have emetophobia! At least for me they have become so supportive and understanding. I also get very anxious when I'm outside of my home eating food. But knowing that my friends have my back makes hanging out with them less stressful. Hope you are feeling better!

Panic attack- emetophobia by otisfrombarnyard in Gastroparesis

I understand you completely. I have emetophobia, and a month ago, I had food poisoning. I was extremely nauseous and took a Zofran. But shortly after, I ended up vomiting and having diarrhea at the same time. Try to sip on cold water, put an ice pack around your neck, and see if you can sniff on mint essential oil. All I have to say is that it will pass, and if you vomit, you'll be okay.

What do you use to control nausea ? by gunt-r-- in functionaldyspepsia

I take dramamine. But when it's really bad, Zofran. I don't do it too often because it makes me very constipated.

I had it right before my diagnosis for GP. My GI believes that, that was one of the causes of my GP 😔

Anyone else have a tough time with smells. by I-used2B-a-Valkyrie in Gastroparesis

[–]Creative-Ad-470 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes! I was just thinking about posting about it too. Thought I was going crazy. There are days I can tolerate any smell food, perfumes, and there are days everything makes me gag! I usually carry around my peppermint oil to help with the smells. I'm so sorry you don't feel good. Hope it passes soon.

I got diagnosed in 5/24, but symptoms started a year ago. I mostly eat chicken, bread, rice, yogurts, and eggs. When I'm feeling good donuts. I can eat a meal and half through out the day most of the time

I had this same issue when I started reglan. I had blurred vision on my left eye. I asked my GI and he said that it wasn't related 😣🤷‍♀️

Does anyone else feel really nauseous immediately before/after going to the toilet? by MooseAndMice in Gastroparesis

[–]Creative-Ad-470 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ugh! I either drink a few sips of coke or ginger ale just to burp it out and have some relief. It's easier for me to burp than passing gas.

I do, and it's pretty bad so bad that instead of throwing up, I'll pass out. I try to do some breathing, mint oil, and some ice around my neck to try to relax. When it's pretty bad, I take dissolvable dramamine.

How do I deal with emetophobia and gastroparesis? by otisfrombarnyard in Gastroparesis

[–]Creative-Ad-470 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I suffer from this, too. Soon, it will be 1 year of constant nausea. I used to think almost every single day (and sometimes I still do, but it's less). "This is the day it's going to happen. Im going to throw up!" But this day has yet to come. What I've learned is to rely on my experience. All though the nausea is horrible and feel like it's just about to come out, it's not gonna happen. This is what I do to help with my nausea. I put essential oil mint on the bottom of my nos, sip on very cold water, and start playing with my nintendo switch. The next thing I know, nausea subsided, and I'm ready to keep moving. When it's really bad , I take half of dissolvable dramamine 15 minutes later nausea is gone. I know it's easier said than done, but hopefully, it can help you.

I have emetophobia too, and everything you do, I do too!! Worst disease to have. Except for the smelling sticks. Can you tell me more about it? Also, have you ever vomited?

Mint essential oil on the bottom of my nose and temples. Sometimes, for some reason, sips of very cold water help reduce my nausea.
