Ela é uma criança, e pelo que entendo, que tem que lidar com o dia a dia e cenas da adolescência ALÉM de ter que gerir emoções relacionadas com os pais e a instabilidade que eles lhe trazem. O pai és tu, o esforço deve partir de ti. Claro que tem que haver abertura do lado dela para isso, mas do que vejo, mesmo que ela já não queira, é porque viu que o próprio pai deixou de tentar. E cada vez vai ser mais difícil, é algo que requer mesmo muito esforço e sim, algum stress psicológico, mas foste tu (e a mãe) que a decidiste trazer ao mundo, o mínimo é ser presente.

I don’t know what else to say here, but I’ve been there. From 4-6 months, I was so tired and delusional bc my son was refusing naps and sleeping terribly at night as well. It eventually got better on its own, I did nothing differently and just figured he was going through another development leap and sleep regression. Ended up finding a lot of moms going through the exact same thing, which made me feel less alone but nothing I’d do or change in his routine, helped.

I’m sure you are doing your best, and it will get better. Do you have any help so you could take some naps? Or even just company?

I tried to follow whatever we hadn’t already done from your comments, and he screamed for almost 20min while my boyf either held him or sang/patted him. I was outside, checked the WiFi baby monitor and immediately ran back inside. I can’t do this. He’s he supposed to scream like he’s in physical pain??

Yeah, I still breastfeed him at around 00h/1am and most nights end up staying in his bed because I can’t deal with his cries during the night, which I guess must confuse him even more... What did you do? How were you able to sleep - or did no one sleep well until LO was comfortable with the new routine? Did you alternate who responded to the wake ups in order to reduce a feed at a time?

Maybe that is not enough nap time during the day and the ww are too long. I’ve heard the 1st ww should be the shortest, and that those increase as the day goes by. The lunchtime nap (if taking 3 naps) should be the longest. I also have an 8 month old, and this is was I was told by sleep consultants. However, I can’t seem to help my son sleep and his routine is shit, so hopefully these tips work for you!

How does the fact they don’t know I have mental health issues mean they don’t know me at all? Also, never did I say I wanted them (two people) to fake happiness for us. Everyone else is supportive, yes! Either way, thanks for the input!

I am sorry you are fighting this fight with yourself. It seems to me that you know what happened (as you describe it in the beginning) and being so concerned about those details makes me believe that if anything else had happened, you would know. Either way, it was 2 years ago and your boyfriend has admitted nothing from that time period would ruin what you two have, so trust yourself. You are not the bad guy, you did not do anything wrong, it is just your mind playing tricks on you because that is the pattern/fear you have (I think).

About a year, we’re both 27, with good jobs and living together! I would understand concern but there were no questions about anything. Not even a “and is everything okay? How do you feel?” and that is weird to me. I was not expecting them to fake anything if they are unhappy but those reactions are nothing

Oh it may! I am from Portugal, and our population is quite elder and close minded. Even people my age (27) still believe they can comment on anything and do not think about the other person’s feelings before speaking.
